Naughty Dragon (The Feisty Dragons 2) - Page 21

In response, she turned around and wrapped her arms around his neck. Her breasts pressed against his chest, and her pants were still halfway down her legs. Her nipples were hard as they rubbed against him, and his cock twitched, excited.

“Allison,” he whispered.

“Just kiss me,” she said quietly

. She bit her lip, looking up at him with the most beautiful eyes he’d ever seen in his life. “After you kiss me, I’ll take off my pants, and you can help me warm up, and then I’ll tell you everything.”

How could he resist such a perfect request? The truth was that he didn’t want to resist. He wanted to kiss her. Over and over, he wanted to show her exactly what he thought of her, and that would start with a peck. Then it would evolve into something more. Something wonderful.

Something wild.

So, he kissed her. Something was different this time around, though. He’d had an entire week to think about Allison and what their making out had meant. He’d had a whole week to deal with problems on his own, and to think about how much she impacted his life, and he’d come to a realization. He cared about her a lot. He liked her. She was sassy and she stood up to him. She wasn’t afraid to tell him how it was. He liked that a lot. Christopher often felt like people were scared of him, and maybe that was a good thing in the business world.

Right now, though, he was enjoying the fact that she wasn’t scared. He held his hands on her waist, and then he moved them up. She groaned a little as he raised his hands to her breasts, running his hands up and down the sides.

“More,” Allison groaned against his lips. Then, she added, “please.”

Christopher moved his hands to her front and ran them over her breasts tenderly, gently. He teased her skin with his palms touching her over and over. Soon, he was hard, and he was aching. He wanted more, and he thought she did, too. No, he knew that she did. He could scent her arousal. He could smell her. One of the perks of being a dragon shifter was that he could tell a lot about a person just by their scent. It was a fact that made many humans uncomfortable, but he used it to his advantage.

So, he teased her, playing with her body, and he kissed her over and over. Suddenly, she shivered, and Christopher pulled away. She was still wet. He needed to get her dry.

“Come on,” he murmured. Christopher helped her out of the rest of her clothes, and then he rummaged around in his office closet. Someone had left a blanket on one of the top shelves after the gift exchange last year. He couldn’t remember whether it was Brian or Declan that had received the ugly quilt as a gift. It wasn’t as bad as everyone said, Christopher thought. It was a slew of bright colors, though, and Christopher thought it had a unique sort of look. It had been sitting on the top shelf of the closet all year. Now it finally had a purpose.

He unfolded the blanket and held it open. Allison walked toward him, and Christopher wrapped the blanket around her. He rubbed the blanket over her shoulders, warming her body. Then, on a whim, he lifted her up, carried her to one of the chairs in front of his desk, and sat down. He kept her firmly in his lap.

It was an intimate gesture, but it felt right. She felt right. Everything about this moment felt incredible to Christopher. Maybe he was finally starting to understand what Declan felt when he was with Zoa. Christopher’s brother had met a human who had changed everything for him. Declan and Zoa had fallen in love almost immediately, and yes, Zoa was Declan’s one true mate. Christopher and Brian both felt like Declan was an idiot for not realizing right away that Zoa was “the one.”

Now Christopher suddenly wondered if he was being just as stupid as his brother had been. He shook his head, trying to clear it, and he turned back to the little human in his arms. Whether she was his mate or not, whether she was the woman he was meant to be with or not, there was a problem.

“Allison,” he murmured.

“Christopher.”

“What happened to you?”

“Oh, this? It’s nothing.”

“Allison...”

“Okay, so I might have gotten caught in the sprinklers.”

“Allison?”

“And I might have set off a tiny little alarm.”

“What?”

“And I might have been, you know, sort-of trespassing...”

“What the hell?”

“But hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?”

Chapter 6

It was not the thought that counted.

It was obedience and good behavior that counted. It was following the rules that counted. It was everything except the thought that counted. Unfortunately for Allison, she hadn’t just thought. She’d tried to find answers on her own, and she may have done some less-than-legal things to get her answers.
