Fireball (Cheap Thrills 1) - Page 29

Dropping it all onto the chair, I walked over to the deep end of the pool in my boxers, and waited until she was close enough to me, then dove over her head into the water behind her. I heard her shriek under the water and grinned as I pushed my way back up to the surface where I was met with a face full of water.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” she snapped, moving to launch another spray of water at me, stopping when I grabbed her wrist and used it to pull her closer to me. I didn’t say a word throughout her lecturing and wriggling, instead focusing on the wet strands of pink hair now stuck to her face. “Well, what do you have to say for yourself?”

She sounded like an angry teacher talking to a pupil, but looked like a half-drowned doll, and I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. For a second her face softened as she watched me, and then a look of shocked outrage took over her face.

“I’m sorry, baby,” I chuckled, pulling her up against me and feeling her bare stomach against my own. The water was cool, but there was no mistaking how soft and warm she felt. “You sounded like my seventh grade English teacher when you said that, but you look like a cute little fairy with your pink hair.”

“A cute little…” she gasped, “fairy? Sheriff, I’m not a fairy, I’m a damn Rottweiler.”

Laughing even harder, I wrapped my arms around her back and buried my face in her neck, feeling the long wet strands of hair sticking to my cheek. “A Rottweiler?”

“Yeah, one that’s trained to kill.”

I wasn’t sure if she was aware of the fact that while she said this, she was wrapping her legs around my waist bringing her crotch into contact with mine, but I wasn’t going to risk losing it by pointing it out. Instead, I kept my head where it was and breathed her in. Shifting my grip so that my left arm supported her, I slowly moved my right hand up and down her back, pausing briefly over the knot of her bikini top. I wanted to undo it, but that wasn’t why I’d come here. Plus, she’d probably geld me if I did, the little hellion. Unfortunately, this made me think of what sort of nipples she had. Would they be small, medium, or large?

When I felt her starting to shift and realized that her soft pussy was pressed up against my now very noticeable erection, I lifted my head and looked down at her. “Thank you,” I whispered, relieved to have all the pandemonium that’d been going around in my head silenced. “I haven’t been able to get my mind to settle over the last couple of days, and you’ve done it for me in minutes.”

Eyes wide, she thought about what I’d just told her. “Has it been that bad?”

Nodding, I raised my hand to move some of the clumps of hair off her face, my eyes not leaving hers. “Yeah, it’s been busy. I’m used to it, but my brain can never switch off from it all, and it’s exhausting.”

I knew she wanted to ask for details, but the sensible part of her knew that I wouldn’t be able to discuss a lot of it with her, so she didn’t. Instead, she gave me a small smile and then her eyes dropped to my tattoos. Well, some of them.

“These are all so well done. It’s like they’re portraits instead of tattoos,” she noted, her finger stroking over the one on my right bicep. “It’s unusual to have roses under it, but I love the amount of details that you can see in them, and they match the one I’ve got.” To prove it, she held her arm with the roses on it next to mine.

Turning my neck at that degree was awkward and not comfortable at all, but I did and looked between hers and my own. “They really are.”

“Did Ellis do yours? I’ve always wanted to get color ones done on my thigh, but I haven’t had the chance to ever do it. My mom’s birthstone is the ruby, so I’d want them to be that color. Hey, what’s this on your ribs?” She flicked from talking about roses to another one of my tattoos faster than I could blink, and it took me a long second and her finger running over the ribs in question for me to figure out what she meant.

“It’s the lyrics from the song Estranged by Guns N’ Roses. The fourth verse to be precise.”

Her eyes flicked from mine to the tattoo. “Why that song and verse?”

Moving us forward, I leaned her back against the side of the pool, freeing both of my hands. I needed to feel more of her while I told her the meaning of it. “When I was five, it was my mom’s favorite song. She would listen to it all the time, or if it came on MTV, she’d turn the volume up and call me through.” I smiled at the memory, picturing her face whenever it happened. “I can tell you what happens in the music video from start to finish,” I chuckled shaking my head.
