My Professor: A Nora Heat Novella - Page 22

I heard the bath running and then Cole reappeared at the bathroom door. “Come on, let’s get you cleaned up.”

I climbed off the bed and wandered into the bathroom behind him, where he was filling a claw-foot tub. When the water was just right, he climbed in, and I stepped in with him, positioning myself between his legs. I relaxed the back of my head against his chest, aware of his breaths, his steady heartbeat. He kissed my temple and I sighed, clinging to one of his hands with my own.

“What are you thinking so hard about?” he asked, trailing wet fingers between my breasts and around my navel with his free hand.

I turned my head to look sideways at him. “What makes you think I’m thinking about anything?”

“You’re quieter than your usual quiet.” He kissed my nose. “And you’re staring off into space. You do the same when you’re thinking about something in class.”

“You actually notice that?” I asked, laughing. It was sweet knowing he paid such close attention to me in class, especially when I thought he deliberately ignored me. “For once,” I admitted, “I’m not thinking about much at all, just about how much I’m enjoying this time with you already.”

He smiled then pulled both his hands away to cup water in his hands and run it over me. Then he grabbed my body wash and loofah and washed me, and it felt strangely more intimate than having sex. When he finished, he guided me onto his lap, the water sloshing, and I wrapped my arms around the back of his neck just as he tipped his head and kissed me. I could really get used to this.

It was early evening by the time Zara and I finished in the bathroom. While I didn’t push her to have sex again, knowing she’d be a little tender down there, I did make her come again in the tub using my hands. God, she was a sight to behold in the throes of an orgasm. There were moments here and there when I questioned what the fuck I was even doing because she was still one of my students, but I pushed those thoughts away as much as I could.

We had this weekend together, and I wasn’t going to spoil it by thinking about what would happen when we got back and what we’d have to do then. Maybe it was foolish, especially on my part, not thinking ahead, but I didn’t want anything to taint this time with Zara.

I watched her walk around the room in the hotel’s terrycloth robe, taking in the bounce of her curls and the sway of her hips. She had her glasses on, too, which was a fucking turn-on. There was a confident flair about her, and I couldn’t help thinking she’d gained it because of me. She caught me staring and smiled. “What?” She giggled coyly.

“You’re so beautiful,” I murmured.

She lowered her head and fought a smile.

“You hungry?” I asked. I sure as hell had worked up an appetite.

“I could eat,” she replied, sauntering in my direction. I was seated at the small table in front of the balcony doors, and she stopped at my side, brushing her dainty fingers through my hair. I’d known the touch of a woman—a few actually—but most of my relationships hadn’t gone beyond fucking. The attention from Zara, the intimacy, felt nice.

It stroked my ego to know I’d been her first. It was a primal part of me that I’d forgotten existed, simply because I’d closed myself to emotional attachments some time ago. I had my drunk of a mother to thank for that.

I handed Zara a room service menu and asked, “What looks good?”

She bit her lip and plopped down in the chair next to me, unaware of just how sexy she looked with her lip trapped beneath her teeth.

“All of it, actually,” she said.

I laughed, something this woman made me want to do more often. “Why don’t we order a few things and share? I know you’re not of age yet, but you’re in college so I’m sure you’ve had alcohol before, right? I can order a bottle of wine.”

“Um…actually, I’ve never drank before,” Zara admitted.

“Oh, come on! You cannot be this innocent!” I laughed. “You’ve never gone to a party on campus? Drank with a friend? Stole drinks from one of your parents’ liquor cabinets?”

“No! Never!” She threw her hands in the air, breaking out in a laugh. “I know, I know! I’m such a bore!”

“No. Stop.” I grabbed her chin with my thumb and forefinger, smiling. “You’re far from boring.”

“You don’t think it’s lame that I was still a virgin? That I haven’t even had alcohol before?” she asked, brows dipping.

“Not at all. I find it fascinating and extremely rare, and I’m glad I get to be the one to help you try new things. So, would you like to try some wine with me tonight?”
