The CEO's Seduction (A Hamilton Family 1) - Page 35

He didn’t want to be seen with her.

She tried not to let that hurt her.

“Sure, why not?” She shrugged and slid her arms into her robe, avoiding his eyes. “I can go alone if you’d feel better.”

He shook his head. “We’ll just be quiet so no one hears us.”

She snorted. “I’m not the one who stomps into bedrooms in the middle of the night and thinks he’s as quiet as a mouse.”

He chuckled and picked up the wine coolers. When she raised her brows in question, he said, “I figured we could go into your room when we get back upstairs. It has a lock. Mine doesn’t.”

“Okay. Come on.”

Opening the door, he peeked into the hallway. The absurdness of their sneaking around like misbehaving teenagers struck her as ironic, but she held silent. He made a quick stop in her bedroom to deposit the drinks inside, then came out with a triumphant smile. He slid his hand into hers, entwining their fingers, and led her down the hallway, hiding her from anyone who might look their way. As they tiptoed down the stairs, through the dining room, and into the kitchen, he didn’t drop her hand.

After what they’d just done, it shouldn’t have thrilled her so much. But this somehow felt more intimate than sex. As if he held on to her because he didn’t want to let her go. She liked the thought, even though she knew that’s all it was.

A silly thought.

As they entered the kitchen, he stole a quick look at her, his face serious. Dropping her hand, he stopped at the counter and grabbed a plate out of the cabinet. When he reached up high, the muscles in his back flexed.

Her finger twitched with the desire to touch him again.

Over his shoulder, he said, “Maybe this time we’ll actually get to eat them. Third time’s the charm, right?”

She forced herself to stop gaping at him like a fool, and rubbed her forearms. “As long as we don’t knock them off the bed again, we should be fine.”

“Hmm.” He set down the plate and filled it up. When he turned around, his gaze raked over her, leaving trails of fire in its wake and making her feel as if she wore nothing at all. “We’ll do our best, but I’m not making any promises.”

She took a step closer to him, unable to resist.

Reaching up, she curled her hands around his shoulders and rose up on tiptoe. Gently, she brushed her lips across his, kissing him with all of the love inside her that she couldn’t show him. By the time she pulled away, he looked down at her with a mixture of uncertainty and desire in his eyes.

His hands lingered on her hips, and he lifted her up onto the counter. Stepping in between her legs, he nuzzled her neck. “If we were in this house alone, I’d go down on you right here…right now.”

She let her head drop back, allowing him access. “I dare you.”

“Dare?” He laughed lightly, his hands splayed on her thighs. “You know I don’t back down from dares.”

She let her lids drift closed. “Prove it.”

“Brat,” he muttered. He let go of her after a deep, shuddering breath, stepping out of the crook of her legs. “I can’t. I’m too selfish. I can’t risk someone coming along and seeing what’s mine. Because make no mistake, you’re mine now, Anna.”

Her breath got stuck somewhere in her throat. His possessive tone did weird things to her body. She quivered and pressed her thighs together to relieve the ache he’d awoken. “Is that so?”

His hands tightened on her legs, and his eyes darkened. “Yes, that’s so.”

“Hmm…” She couldn’t resist teasing him, even though she’d always been his, and they both probably knew it. “I don’t know about that. We’ll have to see.”

He grabbed her hair and tugged on it gently, tipping her head back. He bit down on her neck, and she shuddered. “Say it. Say you’re mine.”

“Or what?” she murmured, grabbing his waist.

He nibbled on her ear and slid his hands in between her legs. He traced her folds and pressed his thumb against her clit. “Or I’ll make you beg until you cry from frustration, and even then, I’ll make you wait some more.” He rubbed his thumb in a lazy circle. Already, her body lurched to life. Begged for more. “You have no idea how long I could torture you for.” He slid a finger inside her, thrusting hard. “What I could do to you.”

A whimper escaped her, and she bit down on her tongue to kill it before someone heard. “Do your worst, Brett.”

“Say it.” Though this had started as a game, she couldn’t miss the hard edge to his voice. He lowered his head and kissed the swell of her breast. “Say it for me.”
