Forever Mine - Page 160

STEPH

Stepping out of the bathroom after my morning shower, I hear Cal grumbling. The sound comes from Caleb’s room. I throw on my dressing gown and stand in the doorway of his nursery, wondering what all the fuss is about.

“What's going on?” I smile as Cal wipes Caleb’s bottom with more baby wipes than necessary and his t-shirt covers his nose.

“He's shit all up his back.” Cal lifts his tiny legs on the changing table, and the smell hits my nose as he runs another handful of baby wipes down his back and bottom. A giggle escapes me, watching him screw up his face.

“Mammammam.” Caleb babbles away. I don’t actually know if he’s trying to say mummy or if it’s the only syllable he can actually say, which is why he says it all the time.

“Mummy, yeah. She wouldn’t be laughing, mate, if she was the one wiping your arse.” Cal throws the dirty wipes into the bin next to him, then pulls out a clean nappy from the box under the changing table.

Caleb wriggles, and Cal struggles to secure the nappy. Liquid sprays out like a fountain all over Cal’s Motley Crue t-shirt.

“Ah, shit,” Cal grumbles.

Caleb giggles, showing us those little dimples, and I can’t stop laughing at Cal’s sodden t-shirt. “I always said that band was a load of piss.”

Cal secures the nappy. “Mummy’s taking the piss now out of our favourite band. Shall we get her?”

“Mammamm.”

Cal gently places our son in his cot and turns to me with a mischievous grin tugging at the corner of his lips. He pulls off the wet t-shirt, and my stomach clenches when I realise what he’s about to do.

“No, Cal.” I turn and run down the landing to the safety of my bedroom, but before I can close the door, his chest presses against me, pinning me between him and the wall. I hold his forearm away from me with the wee stained t-shirt crumpled in his hand.

“You’re not laughing now, are you?” He smirks, threatening to rub the garment in my face. The ammonia hits my nostrils, making me gag a little.

“Cal, please. I’ve just showered.”

“Take it back.” He grins, getting closer to my face.

“Never.” I giggle again.

“Then you’re gonna get it.”

I use all the strength of my good arm to hold him at bay as I wriggle to free myself. His warm body presses against my breasts, the hairs on his chest brush my skin, and I realise my dressing gown has come loose.

He looks down between us at my chest, rising and falling heavily against the flittering phoenix on his. “Baby.”

The t-shirt drops from his hands. He crashes his lips to mine, tangling his fingers in my hair as he tilts my head to the angle he requires, taking full possession of my mouth.

A light burns through me just as the sunlight burns through the morning dew on the window. Every inch of my skin tingles with excitement. The headiness causes me to forget to breathe. If he wasn’t pinning me against the wall, I would pool at his feet.

He tears the robe wide open and breaks the kiss, pulling back to rake my body with his ravenous eyes. The phoenix on his chest is in full flight as his breathing soars, matching my own heavy pants.

In another frenzy of passion, he collides with my lips once more, tugging the robe down off my shoulders. His hand cups the apex of my thighs, and I suck in a sharp breath, feeling his warm hand there. It’s been so long since I’ve been touched. If this is a one off with him, I’ll take it. He’s the elixir I need, though I fear I’ll become addicted, and he’ll leave me cold turkey again.

A finger slips between my folds and finds my bundle of nerves. He moves lower, entering me and circles me with his thumb. With each flick of his pad, my body jerks at the unfamiliar sensation. It’s been so long. His other hand squeezes my breast, grazing my nipple.

Tingles flutter across my skin as his hot mouth moves down my jaw and sucks on my neck. His fingers work their magic, like Jimi Hendrix strumming his guitar, creating a purple haze all around me.

Whines echo from Caleb’s room, snapping me from this euphoria.

Cal pulls his erection from his joggers and rubs the dripping tip over my plump belly.

“Cal, Caleb is crying.”

“He's fine. I put him in his cot.” He continues to pepper my face with kisses as if he’s deaf to his whimpers.
