“Everyone freeze,” he yelled.“Drop the guns.”The officers obeyed, and Mercy stopped thrashing about.Sutton roared, and Rory released the hold she had on Mercy’s Wolf.She turned on Sutton, baring her sharp teeth.When he growled, she stalked back toward the house but not before she bumped into him hard.Rory stalked up the steps and sat beside Nikita, nudging her with her big head.Nikita knelt beside the Lioness and wrapped her arm around her thick neck.That was how a grandmother should behave.

“Thank you,” Nikita whispered.Rory chuffed in response.

Quinn made her way to where Mercy was sprawled out on the driveway.“Shift, now.”Nikita shivered at her mother’s alpha voice and wasn’t surprised when Mercy obeyed.“Get up,” Quinn commanded.Pushing to her feet, Mercy glared, her naked body on display.Sutton’s Lion took a step back and sat down, his tail swishing behind him.“I should gut you where you stand, but you’re not worth the trouble of cleaning blood off the concrete.”Instead of letting her claws out, Quinn punched Mercy in the face, knocking her back to the ground.“That’s for Nikita, you bitch.”

“Go, Mom!”Nikita jumped up, pumping a fist in the air.

Quinn grinned at her as she walked over to stand with Kyllian.“Voodoo time?”

Kyllian winked at Nikita.“Voodoo time.”

After Kyllian wiped the cops’ memories, he sent them on their way, keeping Mercy with them.“Now, what to do with you?”

Mercy spat.“Fuck you.”

Rory roared, and Sutton growled.Papa T had been silent up until that point, sticking close to Nikita.He patted her on the shoulder, then joined the others on the driveway.“You came to our home under false pretenses.You led my daughter to the RC pack and put her life in jeopardy.You tried to kidnap my grandchild.Tell me why you think we should spare your life?”

“It was supposed to be me.”Mercy thumped her chest.“I was supposed to be the Alpha mate and have his kids, but Quinn came along and took everything from me.”

Quinn let her claws out.“No, I didn’t.Blake was already mated to Bethany, so if anyone should feel slighted, it’s me.Stewart’s the one who went back on his promise to your parents.You should have left when they did and started over.You’ve held onto your anger all these years and directed it at me and my daughter when Blake’s the one who did you wrong.Did Scott really betray me back at the store, or was that all you?”

Mercy shifted her eyes when she said, “Scott wanted his revenge too.”

“She’s lying.”Nikita rubbed Rory’s head before approaching Mercy.“Scott loved Quinn.After all these years, he still loved her.It’s why he refused to mate with you.”

Mercy’s eyes flashed, but Nikita wasn’t scared.She was a dire wolf, so she flashed her own, letting her canines elongate.“Or did you forget that Scott is Tarryn’s uncle?”Nikita rolled her head side to side and bounced on her feet.

“Easy, Trouble.”Kyllian closed the distance between them, standing at her back with his hands on her shoulders.“Regardless of why you lost your fucking mind, the fact remains you did.You messed with the wrong family.If it were up to me, I’d turn my mom loose on you.”Rory got to her feet, and Mercy took a step back.

“Keep her away from me.”

Kyllian removed his hands from Nikita’s shoulders, crossed one arm over his body, resting the opposite elbow on it, and tapping his lips.“I tell you what.I’ll let you go, but—”

“But you’re going to erase my memories.”Mercy jutted her chin.“Get on with it then.”She planted her feet and fisted her hands.

“Where’s your car?”

“My...It’s at the police station.”

Kyllian reached for Nikita’s hand, and she took it.He looked down at her, searching her eyes for something.She didn’t know what, but she trusted him more than anyone in her life.When he smiled, it was soft.“Mercy, you will forget Nikita and Quinn.You will return to your pack where you will watch over Jake.You will make sure he is treated fairly.If it ever seems like his parents, siblings, or grandmother are influencing him in any way that is negative, you will come to New Troy and find any Hound of Zeus.They aren’t hard to spot.Just look for a biker with a Hounds patch on their back.You will go forward and live a peaceful existence, striving to make the world a better place.Walk to the end of the driveway.Wait there until a ride share picks you up.”

Nikita snickered.“Aren’t you forgetting something?”When Kyllian frowned, Nikita rolled her eyes.“She’s naked.”

“Oh.Well, that could present a problem.Run in the house and grab her some sweats and a T-shirt.”

Nikita saluted him and took off jogging inside.The sooner she got Mercy dressed, the sooner they’d be rid of her.She opened the door and allowed Pops and Gram to walk through first.Their clothes were also in tatters outside.Five minutes later, Mercy walked out of sight and out of their lives.

Once everyone was in their skin and dressed, Nikita plopped down on the sofa and blew out a breath.“I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve had all the excitement I can handle.I’m going to sit right here and veg, if that’s okay with everyone.”

Rory and Sutton sat on either side of her.“Can we veg with you?”Gram asked.

Nikita rolled her head to look at her grandmother.“I thought you had to go back home today?”

“Nah.Tomorrow is soon enough.”Rory patted her leg, and Nikita leaned against her arm.

“Sounds good to me.”
