Devon waited until the wolves were gone to speak.“You’ve got it bad, Uncle.”
Kyllian rolled his shoulder.“Right?A week ago, I didn’t know she existed, and now I want to build a life with her and her mother.”
“Are you injured?”Jericho asked.
“Yeah.One of those fuckers shot me in the shoulder.These bastards don’t play fair.”
“Let me look,” Storm said.“I was a medic in the army.”Kyllian tugged off his tee and let the Hound assess the wound.“Devil, you need to call Theo.”
Kyllian pulled his shirt back on.“It’ll take too long for him to get here.Can’t you dig the bullet out?”
“I could if I had the necessary equipment.I don’t even have a first aid kit on my bike.”
Kyllian rolled his shoulder.He really wanted the slug out.“As much as I want to storm the castle, we’re going to need guns of our own.What we need is a sniper.”
“Do you know one?”Joker asked.
“Quinn’s father was a sniper in the army.Quinn didn’t want him involved, but if that were my child, I wouldn’t have stayed behind in the first place.”
When a phone rang from inside the vehicle, Devon asked, “Why is the window busted on the car?”
“I dropped my pouch.My keys and phone were in it.When Nikita and I got back here, I needed to get inside for my clothes,” Kyllian replied as he crawled through the back, climbing over the seats until he found the culprit.Locating it on the passenger side floorboard, he figured it was Quinn’s.When he saw Trenton’s name on the screen, he sighed.He had to talk to the male sooner or later.Kyllian unlocked the door and climbed out before answering.
“Trenton, I’ve got good news and bad news.The good news is we found Nikita, and she’s safely on her way to my sister’s house.The bad news is Quinn is with the RC pack.”
“Dammit, Kyllian.You promised to keep her safe.”
“Yessir, I did, but she went inside a convenience store to use the restroom while I was on the phone.Long story short, one of the Ozark pack had history with Quinn from when she was a teen, and he betrayed her.The RC wolves took Quinn from the back of the store.I was able to trail them to the compound, and then two of their males put Quinn in a car, and I was following when I heard Nikita being targeted by four of their wolves.Trenton, I was torn between following Quinn and helping the girl.”
Trenton sighed on the other end of the line.“No, you did the right thing.She’s just a kid.So what are you going to do to get Quinn back?”
“The wolves are armed.I’ve already taken a bullet to the shoulder, so we’re going to have to get our hands on weapons of our own.”
“Send me your location.I’ll charter a plane and bring my rifle.I owe those fuckers for killing Finola.”
Kyllian hesitated in agreeing.Quinn hadn’t wanted her father anywhere near the dire wolves, but he did have a point.Who was Kyllian to deny the male his revenge?Besides, they needed a sniper.“I will text you our location as soon as we disconnect, but bring Ace and Ripper with you.I’m going to text a few things I need them to bring as well.”
“Done.We’ll see you as soon as we can get there.”
Kyllian disconnected.Turning to Storm, he said, “Guns are on the way.Now tell me what you need for this,” he said, pointing at his shoulder.He texted the list to Ripper, then sent up another prayer up to Zeus, asking for Trenton and the Hounds to get there safely but quickly, and for him to watch over Quinn until they could get to her.
