A Destiny of Carnage (A Violent Agenda) - Page 98

“Fuck, she’s the recruit. Lorcan knows where Byron is,” I hiss at Dino, tossing my napkin onto the table.

Dino stiffens beside me. “What?”

But I’m out of my chair, shrugging his jacket off onto him, and walking quickly toward the double doors that lead to the main hallway. Dino is right behind me. The commotion we’ve caused has Dino’s family watching, along with Adrien. But I don’t fucking care.

If Sorrow has hurt Lorcan…

“Come in, don’t fucking knock,” Lorcan drawls as Dino, and I barge into his room. He’s buttoning up a clean shirt and putting on a tie when we enter. Sorrow is nowhere to be seen.

“Where’s Sorrow?” I ask, stalking into the bathroom to check.

“I’ve no idea. She fucked off the second she threw her drink on me.”

Jude. I take out my phone and call him. It goes straight to voicemail.

I glare at Dino. “Call your fucking cousin.”

He stares at me for a split second and then grimaces as he takes out his phone, dialing and pressing it to his ear. I fill Lorcan in on my suspicions while we wait. If she’s not with Lorcan, then she’s with Jude.

“Sor, where the fuck are you?” Dino snarls down the line. He pauses. “Do not. I repeat. Do not do fucking move until we get there.” He hangs up and looks at me. “She’s with Jude out the front of the house.”

Sorrow has indeed got Jude. He’s hanging over the bush in the central courtyard, emptying his guts. The outdoor covered seating area looks like a frat party hit it—empty bottles of beer litter every surface and a shit load of drugs on the table. Lorcan swears and goes over to help Jude get cleaned up.

“What the fuck happened?” Dino rounds on Sorrow.

“He said he wanted to get wasted,” she hisses at him.

He sneers at her. “So you gave him Sal’s stash of drugs. Are you out of your mind?”

I approach her from behind so she doesn’t see me until it’s too late, and then I twist her arm and shove her forward, quickly pinning her over the table.

Dino grimaces but doesn’t interfere as I keep her there, calmy and securely, while she trashes and seethes at me. I don’t have my knife, but I don’t need one. Sorrow isn’t very well trained. She’s so damn green. I’m surprised the agency let her out into the field. I trained for years before they took me on. They must be desperate.

Dante must be desperate.

“Now, tell me,” I say, keeping my voice level. “Are you working for my father or Dante?”

“Fuck you,” she grits out.

I yank her head back by her hair. “Do not try me. I’m not in the mood. Now I’ll ask again, and you will answer. Though, if you lie to me, I will know, and then I will cut your vocal cords out so you can’t lie to me again, got it?”

Breathing hard, she stills at that and then nods.

“Who are you working for?”

“Sal said the order came from some Italian mob guy.”

Savino.

“I wasn’t going to hurt him.”

“Who?” I snap.

“The kid in the wheelchair. As soon as I saw his picture, I couldn’t go through with it,” she pants.”

“Liar,” I say softly. “You came out here to ply Jude with drugs to get information out of him.” I glance at Dino. “Byron wasn’t put in St Michael’s to get him out of the way. He was put there for his protection,” I say.

“You fucking bitch,” scowls Dino from behind as the rage rips through me too. I twist her arm harder, making her cry out. She’s petite like me. I could very easily break her arm.
