Monster Dragon (The Feisty Dragons 3) - Page 9

“I don’t want to tell you,” she whispered. The woman looked at him and jutted out her chin, as though that was supposed to sway him.

Was she for real right now?

Oh, she was fucking cute, he thought.

If she were his girl, he’d yanked her over his knee and give her a proper spanking for that attitude, though. Instead, he’d have to do with being growly and rough with her. Maybe his unfriendly mannerisms would scare her off.

“Why not?”

“Because you might call the police,” the woman spoke carefully

“That’s exactly what I’m going to do,” Brian lied, staring at her.

He didn’t want to call the cops on this woman. Fuck, she was cute as hell. She had long, soft-looking hair, and a freckled nose, and she had these pouty lips that he just wanted to nibble on.

Shit.

What was wrong with him?

Brian wasn’t the guy who got excited about women. That so wasn’t him. Ever since he’d seen his brother’s nasty-ass breakup with Monique more than a year ago, he’d been hesitant to date. No, the lady hadn’t broken his heart, but she’d hurt his brother wildly, and as a triplet, Brian felt the pain of his womb-mates deeply.

“I don’t want to tell you my name,” the woman repeated.

“Then we have a serious problem.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re still on my beach.”

“Well, I’m not hurting anyone,” she said.

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. How was he supposed to get rid of her without being a total dick? She didn’t want to leave. He understood that. Still, he couldn’t just have humans hanging out on his beach. She’d attract other humans, who would cause trouble, and that would be no good for him.

The woman closed her laptop and set it down beside her. She had a nice little setup, he had to admit. The little tent was behind her, but it was likely only big enough for a single person. Then she had a little blanket spread out. She was sitting there with her laptop, phone, and a notebook, as well as a stack of novels that stretched almost to his knees.

So, she liked to read, did she?

What was the cute little bookworm doing on his beach?

“Come here,” Brian reached for her hands and pulled, tugging her to her feet. She stumbled as she rose, and she bumped right into him. Her hands somehow ended up pressing against his chest, and his hands ended up on her waist.

“What are you doing?”

“I was helping you get up,” he said.

“Why?”

“So, you can leave.”

“I don’t want to leave.”

“You have to,” he told her.

Only, Brian suddenly didn’t want her to leave.

Suddenly, he didn’t want anything else except for her. He didn’t even know her name. He didn’t know anything about her except that she was lovely and beautiful and sweet, and he wanted to kiss her.

So, he did what any self-respecting dragon would do, and he took a step back. He couldn’t kiss her.
