Single Dad's Surrogate: A Billionaire's Baby and Nanny Romance - Page 89

He unlocked the door and Lily dropped his hand just in case. The last thing she wanted was for Maggie to see her holding Wyatt's hand

. It wasn't that she thought Maggie would be upset about it, but she worried that it might confuse her a bit.

“It's okay,” Wyatt said.

“What do you mean?” Lily asked.

The two of them stepped inside and Wyatt closed the door.

“You can hold my hand,” he said. “It's okay if Maggie sees.”

“How did you know that's what I was thinking?” she asked.

He shrugged. “I just had a feeling. I understand why you'd be concerned. I mean there's a lot that we've never told Maggie about who you are and why you're in her life. She obviously doesn't know about you giving birth to her. But I think she could handle the idea of me dating you. In fact, I'm pretty sure she'd be excited to find out.”

“You really think so?” Lily asked.

“I do,” he said, matter-of-factually. “I really do.”

Lily couldn't help but to smile. It was like Wyatt had not only dropped his own walls, but had also lowered the walls that he'd built around Maggie. It made Lily feel like he was truly allowing her into his life. It was as though he was proud to be dating her and wasn't afraid to show it.

She reached forward and took his hand again.

“If you insist,” she said, with a smirk.

Chapter 28

Lily

Wyatt squeezed Lily’s hand affectionately and the two of them walked across the house to the kitchen. Wyatt clicked on the light above the center island, illuminating a yellow notepad. There was some scribbling on the pad, so the two of them walked up to read it.

It was a note from Mildred.

“Hey Wyatt. I was so tired that I didn't feel like cooking, so I'm taking Maggie to dinner and a movie. I hope you don't mind if she stays up late tonight, but she was adamant about seeing that latest dinosaur flick. It doesn't start until almost nine. At any rate, we'll probably see you in the morning if we don't see you tonight. -Mildred.”

Lily glanced over to the clock on the microwave. It wasn't even nine o'clock yet, which meant that she and Wyatt had the entire house to themselves for at least another couple of hours.

“That was nice of Mildred,” Lily said. “Did you talk her into this so that you could get me alone?” She flashed a wink as she asked the question.

“I wish I was that savvy,” he said, with a chuckle. “I'll happily take credit for it, though, even though it wasn't my idea. I'm guessing Maggie begged and begged to go see that movie and then finally Mildred gave in. You know how persuasive Maggie can be.”

Lily smiled. “Oh yes, she's definitely knows how to get what she wants.”

Wyatt turned and walked toward the small wine fridge at the far end of the kitchen. He pulled out a bottle of white wine and then took two glasses from the cabinet. “I think having the house to ourselves calls for a little celebration, don't you?”

She nodded. “You know what? I think that's a fantastic idea. I mean, how often does it really happen that there's nobody here?”

“Pretty much never,” he said. “Should we have a drink out on the patio?”

Lily shook her head. “No, it too chilly outside. Besides, I don't want the neighbors spying on us.”

Wyatt smiled. It was clear that he knew exactly what was on her mind. “Fair enough. The bedroom then?”

“Yes,” she said. “The bedroom.” Then she bit her bottom lip as another burst of anticipation filled her. The wet desire between her legs intensified and she knew that there was no turning back.

I'm going to fuck him like I've never fucked anybody in my life, she thought, unable to take her eyes off of him.

“Screw the wine,” Wyatt said, setting the wine bottle and the glasses onto the counter. “I want you now.”
