Protecting His Mistress (Kindred Tales) - Page 85

By the time they finished talking, Lilli’s head was spinning. Liv sent her away from the Med Center with strict instructions to rest and said that she would want to see her every other day, to chart the course of the quick-grow pregnancy.

“Normally I’d only want to see you a couple of times a month and then once a week when you got close to delivery,” she told Lilli. “But this is unprecedented—the baby’s growing so quickly I’ll need to check on him more often.”

Lilli was happy to promise to come back soon. She really liked Liv and was excited and a little nervous to meet the other women she’d talked about. Maybe here on the Mother Ship, she could finally have the kind of life she’d dreamed of—a nice, normal life with supportive, caring friends and a mate she truly loved.

There was only one thing missing. But maybe, just maybe she could have that too.

“Do not be afraid to attempt the impossible…” The voice of the Goddess rang in her head.

Lilli was through being afraid—she was ready to reach for what she wanted. And what she wanted was Karn—completely.

She just hoped she could have him.

The suite Karn brought her to was charming. It was furnished with oversized furniture, obviously meant to hold a huge male of his size, and it had a cozy little living area with a fireplace, as well as a lovely deep bathing pool to relax in. Yet, he seemed anxious about it as he showed her around.

“I know there’s no anti-grav pool or flo’jamon courts,” he rumbled, as Lilli looked around. “And no servants to cook and clean for you—”

“I don’t need any of that,” Lilli interrupted him. “We didn’t have any of that at the convent, you know. We did all the chores ourselves and we certainly never had any fancy amenities.”

“But at your mother’s house—” he began.

“Is my mother,” Lilli finished for him. “And all the gold and jewels and fancy tech and servants in the world couldn’t make living with her bearable.” She blinked, trying to hold back the tears that suddenly threatened. “She was awful, Karn!”

“I know she was baby,” he rumbled, drawing her close and rubbing her shoulders and back soothingly with his big, warm hands. “But you don’t ever have to see her again. We’re together now and she can’t hurt you.”

“Or you. Or our son.” Lilli put a hand protectively over her belly.

“Gods, I still can’t believe I got you pregnant.” Karn shook his head wonderingly. “That’s supposed to be impossible without a bond. It must have been those crazy quick-grow hormone shots your mother gave you. It’s the only way I can think it could have happened.”

“Oh?” Lilli tilted her head and gave him a mischievous look. “I can think of a way it happened—maybe you filling me with your shaft and your seed over and over and over again for the past week?”

His mismatched eyes were suddenly half-lidded.

“Well, yeah, that too,” he growled softly. Leaning down, he cupped her face in his hands gently and took her mouth in a long, hot kiss.

As their lips met, the tingling need came back in full force. Lilli nearly gasped with the sudden desire, which reminded her of how she had felt on their journey to Opulex. It was like her body was hungry for his cream—hungry to be plowed and planted by his seed yet again.

“Karn,” she begged, the moment the kiss broke “Make love to me, right now! No, don’t just make love to me—fuck me.”

He gave her that charming, lopsided grin of his—the one that showed only one fang.

“We’re barely alone for a minute and you’re already asking for sex? I thought Dr. Olivia told you to rest.”

“She did,” Lilli admitted breathlessly. “But I can’t seem to help it—I need to have you in me. I…I think I’m still feeling the effects of those awful hormone shots.”

He raised an eyebrow at her.

“Is it the tingling again, baby?”

Liv nodded.

“It is. And it’s making me feel crazy.”

She went to the bed and lay on her back. Lifting her top to show her naked breasts and taking off her panties, she spread her legs to offer him her open pussy.

“Please, Karn,” she whispered. “Fuck me—fuck me hard.”

His mismatched eyes went half-lidded and a low growl of desire rose in his throat.

“I’d love to, but what about the baby?”

“He’s safe,” Lilli promised him. “I asked Liv about it and she said we could, er, do what we wanted.”

Her cheeks got hot at the admission. It was one of the last questions she’d asked her new friend before leaving the Med Center and it hadn’t been easy to ask, but she’d had to know. Now she was happy to report that it was safe to do exactly what she wanted with her man.
