Honeytrapped - Page 13

“Oh, bingo,” breathed Tilly. “Norman’s playing away with one of the staff here.”

“You don’t know that,” Calum said. “She could be a long-lost sister.”

Tilly took photographs of the pair as they crossed the darkening forecourt to Norman’s car. “Where next?” she wondered aloud. She handed her camera to Calum and started the car.

“Actually, this is quite exciting, even if it is risky. They’re going left at the main road… looks like they’re heading out of town. Follow that car!”

She obeyed, keeping three other cars between them and their quarry, knowing that, unless they meant to visit the quiet park on the outskirts of town, they must be planning a journey into the countryside.

Houses and shops gave way to open fields on the unlit road that led to the next town, ten miles distant. Tilly turned up the music and accelerated, loving the freedom of the open road and the knowledge that a sexy man occupied her passenger seat. His hand was still on her thigh, weighing her down, keeping her grounded in her exhilaration.

Halfway along the road, Norman took an obscure right turn. She slammed on the brakes and pondered his motivations.

“Where are they going?” she whispered to Calum. “There’s nothing down here but the Forestry Commission car park.”

Calum chuckled, a little wickedly. Tilly gave him a curious look.

“What?”

“Haven’t you heard about that place’s reputation?”

“Reputation?”

“Lover’s lane.”

“Oh!”

“Seems like you had it right. Our Norman’s up to no good.”

In front of them, the tail lights of Norman’s car glowed red. Then the brake lights joined them and a left turn indicator flickered in the gloom.

“That’s where they’re going,” said Tilly, suddenly aghast at being faced with the reality of the situation. “Oh God. Melinda wants pictures.”

“Go on then. Left. We’ll have to park up with them. Don’t worry. I don’t suppose they’ll care what we’re doing.”

Tilly let the car crawl over to a spot three spaces away from Norman and his escort. They weren’t the only vehicles in the car park. Three more lurked in the gloom, steamy windows lowlit while they rocked and bucked.

Despite the darkness, Tilly was easily able to make out the outline of the woman from the DIY store in the passenger seat. She was twisting around, so Tilly was presented with the back of her head. Then she saw Norman’s eager hands appear at her sides, his fingers pushing into the woman’s coat-clad upper torso.

“They’re kissing,” Tilly hissed, setting her mobile phone to camera mode. “I can’t use the flash, can I? This’ll probably come out too dark.”

“Norman’s going to see you.” Calum leaned over the gears to take hold of her shoulders. “Don’t watch him so blatantly.”

“I have to watch him. That’s what I’m being paid to do. Oh, they’re putting the seats back.”

“Does this car have reclining seats?”

“Mmm, yes. Why? Oh, he’s taking off her coat. He has a hand up her jumper. He’s sort of climbing on her. I don’t think much of his technique.”

“Do you think I could offer him lessons?” asked Calum laconically.

“Maybe. He’s got the jumper off now, and…I think…he must have got her skirt out of the way somehow.”

Calum’s hands, which had been massaging Tilly’s shoulders, moved around in front to cup her breasts.

“What are you doing?” Distracted, she tried to fend him off but he was too strong.

“We need to look as if we’re here for a reason,” he murmured into her ear. “Don’t we? Otherwise they might cotton on to us.”
