Breaking Mr. Cane (Cane 2) - Page 70

Her hand ran fluidly up and down my cock. I groaned loudly the faster she went, bringing the hand that was behind her, up to her hair. I clutched it tight and she moaned, dropping her face again and crushing my lips. And with her mouth on mine, our tongues colliding and my cock begging for release, I came.

A harsh groan tore through my entire body, starting from the pit of my belly and rushing out.

“Oh, shit, baby,” I growled on her mouth. I shuddered as I came, spilling all over her hand. I glanced down when she pulled her mouth away to look, and sure enough, her hand was soaked with my cum.

She looked up with a bashful smile, kissing me once more, still gently stroking my sated cock. Only she could do something so fucking filthy and make it seem like a mindless, innocent act.

“To answer your question from before,” I mumbled on her lips. “I’m almost certain that I will never stop wanting you.” I cupped a hand around the back of her neck, bringing her mouth down to mine again. “You’re all I want, Kandy Cane. All I need.”

She gently sucked on my bottom lip, making my dick spasm. “And to answer your question…ever since I can remember, you’ve been the only person I truly wanted. That’s how I know I will never stop wanting you.” Her eyes softened. “We will make this work.”

Yeah.

I hoped so.

Chapter Thirty-Two

KANDY

Thanksgiving break went by much faster than I had anticipated.

I’d spent most of it with Cane. I constantly lied to my parents about going to hang out at Frankie’s or going to shop with her. Not that it was a complete lie. “I did hang out with Frankie, even if it wasn’t as often as I’d liked. She had to start working after her mom lost her job, which only made lying to my parents worse. I didn’t tell them about Frankie’s mom, and if Frankie stopped by, I asked her not to mention it to them.

I only had two and a half weeks of school left for the semester. I studied like hell for my exams and was so glad those two weeks flashed by. I flew back home five days before Christmas, mostly eager to be reunited with Cane.

Despite the secrets, Cane and I felt freer, which was strange.

He told me that Kelly was still around, which I hated, but understood. She wasn’t around-around—more like constantly calling and texting.

He couldn’t just ditch her after finding out about her being in the same rehab as his mother. It was becoming this sticky web between him and Kelly. She knew things about him, and now he knew things about her. At the moment, it was a matter of who would snitch and ruin things first. The heat of that left Cane on edge most of the time.

I noticed it during the moments when he thought I wasn’t watching. His phone would buzz or ring and his jaw would flex, proving that she was most likely calling. I hated seeing him in such a dilemma, but was glad that he had me, Lora, and even his mother there to support him and push him through it.

On Christmas, I opened presents with my parents and then devoured some hot cocoa and chocolate chip pancakes. The thing I loved about Christmas was that it left us in a feel-good mood. It was a perfect day.

Unfortunately, Dad didn’t get as many days off, so he went into work that afternoon. Mom had some work to do from home and had a lot to catch up on, so I dropped off my gift for Frankie, and then took the gift I’d hidden in my trunk for Cane, to him. It wasn’t much. Just a tie with candy canes on it, which he got a real kick out of. The funniest part was that he wore it to work the next day and had even taken a selfie and sent it to me, just for my viewing pleasure. I couldn’t lie, he was a handsome devil.

On the last night of my winter break, Cane had planned a dinner. He invited me over, and I had asked if I could bring Frankie with me. She was off that night and I missed my best friend. It would be the last time we hung out for a while, so yes, I dragged her with me. Cane was more than okay with her being there, seeing as I trusted Frankie with my life.

“So is it just sex with Cane or is it getting serious?” Frankie asked in the passenger seat. I was driving while she scrolled through her phone.

I didn’t know if it was because I hadn’t spent much time with her since school started, or if I was so wrapped up in Cane and hiding him that I hadn’t really paid attention to her, but something seemed way off with Frankie. Her hair was no longer the spunky colors she’d loved. It was dyed black and her eyes were sadder. I’d constantly asked her what was wrong, but she would always blame it on her mom losing her dream job and not making enough money, and how tired she was, but it felt like something much deeper to me. She’d lost the spunk and fire I knew too well. She was tame now, eerily calm if I was being honest. She was my best friend, though. I knew she’d cave and tell me when she was ready.
