Hold On to Me (Return to Haven 3) - Page 63

She released him, and he was surprised he was able to stay in hold. “Perfect,” she whispered.

Then she stepped away, and he heard her assisting someone else in the class. Her soft tone combined with the pale lighting and the slow music no doubt was key in the concentration.

Cash had just grown comfortable and confident when a cramp attacked his glute and sabotaged his perfect form, and he fell over onto his back.

Thankfully, he landed on his mat and didn’t hit anyone around him, but still, humiliating yourself was rather painful.

Cash swiped his hand across his sweaty forehead and caught Jade’s eyes across the room. She smiled but didn’t say a word.

When Cash grabbed a quick drink and settled back onto his mat, the lady next to him came back down from her own pose and sat on her heels.

“Don’t worry,” she told him as she shook her head. “We’ve all done it a time or two. You’re officially part of the group.”

Cash laughed. “Glad I passed the initiation.”

The final portion of the class went on a little calmer, but by the end, Cash worried he wouldn’t be able to walk later. He was used to heavy weights, not so much stretching his muscles and pushing himself to hold poses for long periods of time.

During the cooldown, Jade had them lie on their backs, palms up to the ceiling and eyes closed. He was all on board with that pose. Her feet shifted over the floor, but he didn’t open his eyes. Suddenly, her fingertip tapped between his brows, then her hands gave a subtle massage to his temples, then feathered away, and she was gone.

Whatever oil or liquid she’d used on his head and shoulders smelled like her. He always associated this scent with Jade, and now he knew why. Was this jasmine? Whatever it was, Cash was totally getting turned on.

After they came back to a sitting position on their knees, they bowed down to the mat to end class. Jade dismissed them and promised to see them in two days.

As much as Cash wanted to get out into fresh air and peel off his shirt, he took his time in putting his soaked towel in the bin and rolling up the mat. Once the room was cleared out, Jade closed the door, only leaving it slightly ajar for the cooler air to creep in.

“Not a bad start, Flex.”

Jade reached up on the shelf in the corner and grabbed a clean towel. When she turned, she tossed it his way. Instinctively, Cash snaked out his arm and caught it.

“That’s a damn hard class, Red.” He mopped the sweat off his head and swiped the back of his neck. “I don’t know if the poses or the heat was worse.”

Jade laughed as she reached for her bottle of water. “So, would you rather a room at one hundred three degrees for sixty minutes or regular yoga in air-conditioning for ninety minutes?”

So they were back to the game? Fine by him. He liked how they had this little bond on top of their secret affair.

“I’d take the heat,” he told her. “Some of those poses kicked my ass.”

Jade clutched her bottle and crossed the room. “That’s what happens when you only lift and don’t stretch. Your muscles are short.”

Cash nodded. “All things I’m aware of. Which is one reason I’m here.”

Jade stopped in front of him and grinned. “And what other reason did you have for coming here?”

“Maybe I’m still trying to convince you to work in my gym.”

She nodded and crossed her arms, the innocent movement doing amazing things to her chest. Cash’s eyes focused on the droplets of sweat disappearing into the valley between her breasts.

“Eyes up here, Flex.”

Cash obeyed. “You didn’t answer my texts.”

“No, but Livie almost did.”

From the hard set of her eyes and her firm tone, he knew she wasn’t kidding. Damn it.

“I left my phone in Mel’s hospital room,” Jade went on. “When Livie followed me home, she helped me get rid of Brad and then was all too—”
