Mac (Mountain Men 2) - Page 38

“Now keep your eyes closed, lass,” I say, just as she’s on the verge of coming. Here’s where we go from the road to the secret passage that brings me to my family’s home. If I keep her on the cusp of coming, she’ll be completely deterred from spying.

I grab her wrist and pinch it, holding it in my tight grip to stop her from climaxing.

“May I, Mac? Oh my God, please may I come?” She squirms on the seat beside me, her eyes tightly closed, as I navigate beneath a canopy of branches that cover the road. I gentle my voice so it’s deep and soothing, a verbal caress I hope she feels straight to her core.

“Soon, darlin’. Hold that thought. Hold your breath. Think of my tongue between your legs.” I squeeze her thigh and press my thumb toward her pussy. She whimpers and squirms, and when I pull through the final turn that takes us to the road to the lodge, I finally grant her permission.

“Spread them.” I give her thigh a sharp swat that makes her gasp as she opens her legs wide. I stroke my fingers over her knickers, then move the damp fabric aside. “Now, love. Come.”

Her hands brace herself, one hand on either side of her, and she clenches against my finger and comes. Her voice is a strangled scream, and her body convulses in pleasure as she comes so hard she’s shaking.

My cock throbs in my trousers at the sound of her climaxing. I stroke her clit and finger her folds until she sighs, gently moving my hand to the side. She curls her leg up beside me and nestles her head on my shoulder.

“My God, Mac. You’ll make a sex addict out of me.”

I chuckle. “And that would most definitely be one of my life’s greatest accomplishments. I love that you love sex.”

She wraps her fingers around my biceps and gives me a little squeeze. "I didn't know I was a sex addict before you. Did you?”

“Did I what?”

“Know you were a sex addict?”

Her question makes me laugh out loud. “Honey, I’ve known I was a sex addict since I was about fourteen years old.”

“Oh, God,” she groans, her shoulders shaking with laughter beside me. “You men are all the same.”

I shrug. “Can’t help it. How else will the world’s population continue, hmm? We need sex-craved men and women susceptible to seduction.”

“Aww, I love it when you get all sexist-philosopher on me.” The clouds break through, moonlight streaming onto the path ahead of us. “Either a little fairy just fell from the heavens, or we’re about to be attacked by a werewolf,” she murmurs. “I can’t quite remember the correct legend.”

“I think you’re confusing legends there.”

“Dear God, only in Scotland are wee bairns rocked in the cradle to the tales of the Loch Ness, eh?”

“Oh, aye. Grows hair on the chest, it does.”

“I’m quite happy with a hairless chest.”

Why the hell is the Aitkens girl such a fucking catch? She’s easy to talk to and fun to listen to, not only sexy as hell but clever to boot. My job would be easier if I had to seduce an ice queen. I’d even settle for someone dull. But this woman…

How could someone raised by that monster be so fetching?

It isn’t bloody fair.

“Aw, Mac,” she says, her voice dropping as my family’s lodge looms ahead of us. “Tell me we aren’t going there?”

I look at her curiously. “Why do you want me to tell you that?”

Her eyes shine with admiration, bright and vivid, her lips parted, as she shakes her head.

“Because I’m afraid you’ll never get me to leave.”

Chapter 8

Bryn

I hate what I’ve been commissioned to do. Hate it.

Because leaving Mac Cowen might be the hardest task I would ever have to do.

And hurting him… might kill me.

His eyes shine with loyalty and warmth as we come to a stop outside his family’s home.

“Aye,” he says in a husky voice. “This is where I grew up.” He squints, looking up at the little chimney on the side of the house. “You might not be able to see it in the dark, but that’s where I climbed to the roof on a dare from my youngest sister, Paisley.”

I giggle, covering my hand with my mouth. “You didn’t.”

“My God, I did, and when my older brother Tavish found us, he damn near shook my ears straight off my head.”

I laugh out loud at the image, a wee Mac with those bright blue eyes, and an angry older brother.

“Did he? He’s your older brother?”

Mac sobers and turns the car off. “Was,” he corrects.

“Oh,” I say in a little voice. “He isn’t with you anymore?”

He turns to me, shaking his head. “Your father really hasn’t told you anything about the Cowen Clan, has he?”

I wouldn’t say he hasn’t told me anything…
