Stolen By The Boss - Page 27

I passed out, my body completely spent from everything. Pretending to be his wife. The nerves of going to the club and meeting Humphrey. The touching and… the orgasm.

I’m mortified I did that, and when I smell the scent of bacon wafting into the bedroom, I know it’s time to get up and face the music.

I get dressed and head straight to the kitchen in Dean’s two-story condo. It’s definitely decorated differently than the mansion on the island of Pico, that’s for sure. This one is more masculine. Lots of black leathers and chrome fixtures. Even though it’s very much a bachelor pad, it still has a homey feel to it.

“Do you live here permanently?” I ask once I’ve entered the kitchen.

He turns to face me, those gray eyes piercing straight through me like they did last night in the club. “No, normally I stay on my private island off the coast of Dubai.”

I was right. I knew he had to have his own island. “Oh.”

“Hungry?”

I nod. I worked up quite the appetite last night. But I don’t tell him that. “Yes, thank you.”

“You’re definitely not a morning person, huh?”

“Noon is morning, thank you very much.”

He laughs. “Ever seen what nine am looks like?”

I laugh with him. “No, that’s my beauty resting time.”

He smiles, and the mood is easy. I don’t feel weird about last night, until he says, “About last night…” his words fall away.

“What about it?” I ask as I butter a piece of toast.

“If you’re uncomfortable in any way, say the word and we stop. I don’t want you doing anything you don’t want to do.”

I set my toast and knife on the plate. “Dean, let me tell you something. I will do whatever it takes to find Bishop.”

“That’s what I wanted to hear. I want to find him just as badly.” He hands me a plate of eggs and fruit.

“How’s Mia? Is she ok?”

He dishes out some eggs for his own plate and sits down beside me. “I talked to her father and there’s still no word. I have some of my best men on the case. I also called the other men to ensure the other daughters are safe as well.”

“Are they?”

“I’ve spoken to Jett and Nico and they’re where they’re supposed to be.”

A huge breath of relief escapes me, making my chest relax a little. “That’s wonderful news. What about the others?”

“We’re having a hard time finding Bianca. I can’t get a hold of my man, Stefan, who was supposed to take her. So, I’m hoping they’re both where they’re supposed to be.”

“What if they’re not?”

Dean shrugs. “Then we have bigger problems on our plate than expected.”

I place a hand over his. “I’m sure they’re all fine.”

He smiles, and it takes my breath away. “Are you up for another party tonight?”

“Oh, sure.”

“This one will be different. It’s not a swinger, sex club party. It’s actually a charity gala that Humphrey will be attending.”

“Sounds great.”

“We need to get you a dress today.”

I shovel a few eggs into my mouth. “And pretty shoes too,” I say with a mouthful of food.

Dean laughs. “Hurry and eat, wildcat. Someone wanted to sleep in today, so we're already running late.”

I eat another big bite, grinning at Dean. It’s strange, but I feel closer to him today. Sure, when I first woke up, the awkwardness from last night was fresh on my mind and made me want to bury my face in the sand. However, Dean made me feel comfortable today. The uneasiness of having me grind myself to satisfaction last night on his lap is all behind us now. Although, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get the image of riding him while knowing other people were watching out of my mind. A small part of me liked it.

I’m not saying I’d ever let me or my partner swing, but last night was different. Maybe because we were playing a part, and I was a character. I didn’t think hard about anything and just went with it.

It was freeing. Intoxicating. And I have to admit, I’m already looking forward to the next party. I crave Dean’s touch and knowing I can have it when we go to these parties makes me giddy with anticipation.

It’s an hour later before we’re inside a designer clothing shop picking out a dress for tonight. This is how the wealthy shop. Whereas I’d just walk into my local mall and hit a department store, Dean’s taken me to an upscale shop with my own personal attendant to help me. She’s fitting me right now, and it’s all so different. I’ve declined a glass of champagne three times. I’m trying to keep my wits about me.

Having Dean in such close proximity is enough of a struggle. I want to rip his clothes off and jump on top of him for real. I can’t add alcohol to the mix.
