Hearts On Campus - Page 23

“This room is bigger than your whole apartment,” she exclaims, spinning herself around in the sitting room of the suite.

The floor to ceiling windows overlook the town, and we’re on the top floor so we can see all the way to the sea.

“I’ve never had a view so good,” she comments, rushing to the balcony doors and pressing herself against the glass just as the light catches her hair, reminding me how perfect she is.

“Neither have I. Neither have I,” I tell her, moving up behind her and holding her by those hips.

Feeling myself harden again when she presses her warmth back into me.

“Maybe we should get some air?” Katelyn suggests, reading my mood and not even mentioning we haven’t eaten lunch today.

Or dinner last night.

Jesus, no wonder I was so grouchy.

How can she get by on no food, I wonder.

“Let’s get something to eat instead,” I suggest, checking the time and kicking myself for having wasted so much of today already.

Messing around with car washes and trying to find hotel rooms…I’m spoiling her alright. Spoiling the whole day so far.

“I’m starving,” she confesses and I feel bad for not even thinking of putting food before shelter.

I guess I’m just used to being on my own, skipping a meal or a whole day without even noticing sometimes.

“Not Sushi though,” she adds quickly too with a smile.

“Me neither,” I remark, shaking my head. “After last night I don’t know if I’ll ever eat it again.

She looks wounded when I say that, but it’s not how I mean it.

“I mean, Katelyn. I felt so bad once you left last night, I never want to feel like that again. Not ever,” I tell her truthfully.

“Me neither,” she admits, squeezing my hand in hers and standing on tippy toes to peck my cheek.

“The restaurant downstairs looks pretty nice,” I suggest but she shifts her eyes to my clothes and then hers.

“I think we’re a little underdressed,” she observes. “Might be why we didn’t get into that other fancy hotel too,” she smiles and I have to laugh.

“I never really thought of that.”

But I know she’s probably right.

“Okay then, so we’ll go eat somewhere simple. And after that, maybe we’ll just go do some shopping for fine clothes to wear out to dinner tonight, how about it?” I suggest.

She looks away awkwardly for a moment, and I have to remind her.

“You’re mine now, Katelyn and that means I’m gonna spoil you from time to time.”

“Time to time?” she asks, and I have to laugh again.

“Okay, okay… A lot of the time, you’ll see. But I don’t want you to feel awkward about it, just enjoy it,” I tell her.

We could just change into something else from the clothes we have, but I want today to be extra special.

My eyes linger on her, and then stray to the bedroom but we both know it’ll happen soon.

Not right now, but soon.

I need to treat my queen a little more first. Then, later on, I’ll show her the true meaning of pleasure.

In the meantime, a little culinary and retail therapy wouldn’t hurt.

I could use a decent feed and some new clothes myself.

It’s been so long since I stepped out off campus and never in my life have I stepped out with such a beautiful girl on my arm.

Chapter Thirteen

Katelyn

It should feel awkward, and if it was anyone else I’d have said no to any of it.

But with Wes, I know how much he wants to see me happy. And I can tell he’s not kidding about money not being a problem in his life either.

So when he suggests we grab a bite and then go shopping for new clothes, I know he’s including himself too.

Everything is about us, but I know he’s making an extra effort to spoil me. Something he tells me to get used to.

If it’s anything like his tongue and fingers working between my legs, I could get used to that pretty damned fast, no problem.

Wes keeps me in sight but out of earshot while he has a word with the concierge before we go.

“Anything wrong?” I ask him once we step out into the street, but he only smiles a knowing smile as he takes my hand in his.

“No, no problem at all,” he grins, proudly holding my hand and I can’t help but feel a little self-conscious.

I’ve never had anyone hold my hand, kiss me or do anything else like Wes has.

It’s gonna take some time to get used to it all, but I hope this magical feeling stays the same. The feeling I get just by being close to him, feeling his strong hand around mine.

After just a few moments out in public, I realize that nobody’s pointing or laughing.

All the stuff I worry about is just in my head. People are out and about doing their own thing, and nobody seems to bat an eyelid seeing me hand in hand with the sexiest man alive.
