Just For You, Sir (Doms of Decadence 1) - Page 87

He named an address that was right across town. She had no idea how Evan had found Holly and Brax and right now that didn’t matter.

“You have one hour to get here. And remember to come alone.”

Jacey drew out the credit card Derrick had given her with shaking hands, and handed it to the taxi driver.

“You sure you want to be dropped off here, miss?” the older taxi driver asked kindly.

The area didn’t look all that appealing. There were a lot of large warehouses and barbed wire security fencing. She swallowed heavily. She didn’t have time to be afraid.

“I’m sure. Thank you.”

She took back the credit card and placed it in her pocket before c

limbing out of the taxi.

Her hand fiddling with her necklace, she walked toward the address Evan had given her. Dragging open the sliding door of the abandoned looking warehouse, Jacey tried to calm her racing heartbeat, the need to run almost overwhelming. But she forced herself to piece together some courage and stepped further into the building.

A lone light flicked on and she was face to face with one man she had hoped to never see again.

“Hello, Jacinta.”

“Where is Holly?” she asked, trying to keep the tremors from her voice.

“Oh, she’s someplace safe.”

She scowled. “Where? You said she would be here.”

“No, I said I’d kill her if you didn’t come alone. Don’t worry, she’s being closely watched. Do as I tell you and I won’t have to kill her. Disobey me and all it will take is one phone call and...” He slashed a finger over his throat.

“How do I know you haven’t killed her already?” she asked.

Evan pulled a phone out of his pocket and pressed his thumb down on the screen.

“Hello?”

“Put the woman on,” Evan ordered.

“Hello? Hello?”

Jacey slumped in relief as Holly’s voice came across the phone.

“Holly, are you okay?”

“Jacey, I—”

Evan shut the conversation off before Holly could say any more.

“Well? Do you plan on killing me here?” she asked Evan.

“Well, that was the original plan. However, having you turn up with a bullet in your brain in some warehouse in Austin isn’t going to be easily explained. No, we need your death to be a nice little accident, well to look like one. So you and I are going to take a drive.”

Christ, where was Tiny? She hadn’t been stupid enough to leave the safe house without telling Tiny and Connor about the phone call. Even if she’d made it out of the house without setting off security, it would have been suicide to come here alone.

And Jacey wasn’t ready to die yet. She had too much to live for. She placed her hand over her belly protectively as Evan grabbed her with his free hand, his other hand clutching a gun.

Tiny would follow her and Connor was tracking her. Before leaving the safe house, Connor had told her about the GPS in her necklace. Apparently Derrick, the sneaky bastard, had put a tracking device in her necklace without telling her. Tiny and Connor would find her. Whether she would be alive or dead was going to be up to her.
