Wake My Heart (Jasper Falls 1) - Page 73

Every lick and pull of his mouth drove her closer to the razor-sharp edge of need, until she feared desire might cut her open. Her fingers flicked open the button of her jeans. Every inch of clothing needed to go. She shoved them down her hips and thighs, pushing her panties away as well.

His clothes needed to go. She reached for his hips, and her fingers stumbled over his belt. His mouth moved to her neck, kissing and nipping at the sensitive spot just below her pulse, sending shivers up her spine and chills across her front. Her toes curled into the bedding, and she lost focus on the belt as his mouth closed over the lobe of her ear.

No one ever kissed her like that before, and it sent off a magazine of shots firing up every nerve ending in her body from head to toe. He noticed her response and chuckled against her ear, the sound easy and rugged, turning her on all the more.

“Ears. I’ll remember that,” he whispered, kissing a trail down her throat to her collarbone.

His fingers explored lower as his mouth made a meal of every sensitive spot around her neck. The first grazing touch to her sex had her stiffening.

Ryan’s arm banded beneath her back, lifting her to him as his other hand paused between her clenched thighs. He looked into her eyes, not in question but something else. It was almost as if they’d made a deal and this was happening, no matter how long it took. There was something so gentle yet authoritative in his stare, her thighs slowly opened for him.

“That’s it,” he whispered, dropping a soft, approving kiss to her trembling mouth. “I won’t hurt you, Maggie. Ever.”

He kept his stare locked with hers as he softly teased over her folds. Soft hair and delicate flesh welcomed his touch, and arousal slowly unfurled her tension. She sucked in a sharp breath as he grazed her clit. When his finger slowly penetrated, her spine stretched, and her mind scrambled to stay in the moment.

“Easy. Keep looking at me.”

She opened her eyes and gazed up at his piercing blue stare as he stroked slowly, driving that teasing touch over her sensitive flesh. Her breathing shifted and her body tightened. She wanted more and she wanted less. Maybe this was a mistake.

His thumb brushed over her swollen clit, and her breath hitched, her body arching away from the bed and taking his finger deeper. He kept his touch buried inside of her, stroking, slowly at first and then faster as her body tightened.

Lowering her body, he crawled over her. His other hand teased the soft hair at her apex and exposed her clit. His head dropped between her legs and warmth exploded through her.

His mouth worked magic over her flesh as his fingers pushed and teased, deeper, faster, until she was crying out nonsensical words and moaning for more. He shouldered his body lower, spreading her legs and stretching her in ways she hadn’t stretched in years. Then all thoughts disappeared and sheer unadulterated pleasure careened through her body.

Her muscles stiffened and fluttered with a release of tension. Ryan gripped her thighs, feasting on her pleasure. Her hands fisted in the bedding as white light burst behind her eyes. Again and again, one stunning sensation rolled into another as he relentlessly pushed her higher.

She gasped and moaned louder, losing all control of her responses as he greedily wrung every drop of ecstasy from her. Her hands pulled at his hair. Her legs squeezed and clenched. When he was finally satisfied, she was empty, and at the same time, she felt completely full.

He lifted his head, strawberry blond hair standing on end, a cocky smirk twisting his mouth. And he had doubts about his abilities? They hadn’t even slept together yet, and she was blown away. Literally.

She shut her eyes and savored the sensations running through her body. Peeking through her lashes, she watched him fumble with the drawer and withdraw a condom. She forgot about condoms, but since she wasn’t on birth control anymore…

She shoved away those thoughts, knowing they’d quickly spiral to a reality she didn’t want to intrude. He shed the last of his clothes, then ripped the foil and shifted closer, the crinkled hair on his thighs brushing her sensitive skin. Her body chilled as his weight came down and he balanced over her.

“You ready?”

Her chin trembled as she looked up at him. Maybe it was the sight of the condom. Or the pause lasted too long and something shifted. Her confidence was gone.

Goosebumps lifted on her arms and torso. Her nipples tightened, but only from the chill.

“Maggie?”

She blinked, her eyes burning with unexpected tears. She didn’t want to cry, but words wouldn’t come out.

“Hey, hey, hey.” His body dropped over hers, warm and comforting as his arms banded around her back and lifted her to his chest. “It’s okay. We can stop.”
