I am starving by the time Meg meets me at the cafeteria and luckily my hangover is gone.
“So, how's your day going.” she asks sarcastically.
“Okay so you weren't totally wrong. He’s a prick!”
“I told you, I spent all day yesterday telling him I didn’t like dudes and he told me he could change my mind like it was a damn challenge.”
“Oh my God. No, he didn’t?”
She plops down in her seat at our table and takes a huge bite out of her apple. I leave her over there as I walk over to get in line for a cheese burger and fries. I’m up next when I feel a hand at the small of my back. I go still and look up to see Ryder standing there with a huge smile spread across his face.
“I just couldn’t wait until dinner. I needed to see you.” I can’t help but smile back at him.
“You going to eat lunch with me?”
“Hell yes, come on. I love the pudding. It’s amazing.” I chuckle as he grabs three of them and puts them on my tray. Ryder pays for our food and we head over to the table that Meg is sitting at. She raises a brow when she sees me with Ryder.
I have been talking about him for the last couple months and normally it is me complaining about something he has done so I can see why she looks so confused to see us together.
“Hey Ryder, how have you been?”
He pulls out my chair and then sits down next to me. “Hey Meg. Doing pretty good, just wanted to come have lunch with my girl.”
I almost choke on my drink. When the hell did I become his girl?
“What?” I gasp out.
Meg looks between us both and laughs. “Obviously you guys have a few things you need to figure out so I'm going to go.” She gets up and walks away.
Ryder turns to look at me, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. “You've been my girl for a while now and I've let you have your space, but I'm done waiting. You are mine Suzy, and I plan on keeping it that way.”
Before I can say anything, he’s kissing me. My entire world tilts as his lips touch mine. It’s a light kiss, filled with promises that I can only dream of. After a second, he pulls back.
“Let’s eat our lunch, so you can get back to work.”
I sit there staring at him as he pulls back putting his arm behind my chair. I can’t deny it. I want this to happen, I want to see where this will take us, and I am tired of fighting it.
“Okay, Ryry.”
We spend the next fifteen minutes talking and I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life. He kisses my cheek and tells me he'll pick me up after my shift. I have been on cloud nine since he left and even Dr. Douchehole can't break my mood although I think he has been trying.
He has been getting a little touchier and wheneve
r I smile he gets this evil glint in his eyes almost like he has won something, and it is starting to really creep me out. It's been relatively quiet most of the day and as I look up at the clock I realize my shift is over.
Where the hell did the day go? I think to myself as I make my way back to the locker room. Feel my face flush and I bite my bottom lip. I can tell you exactly where it went. It was spent picturing Ryder doing wickedly naughty things to me at his bar and him finally claiming me as his.
“You happy to see me?” Cole asks as he leans against my locker, raking his eyes over my body making me feel disgusting. Ew on so many levels.
“Uh...” How the hell do I respond to that? He steps a little closer and I take a step back. I look around and notice that we are the only two in the locker room. Fuck. I make a step to go towards the door when he pushes me up against one of the lockers.
“Oh, don’t you worry Suzy. I made sure I locked the door and everything. We wouldn't want to be interrupted, would we?”
I am starting to shake, and I don't know if it's from adrenaline or fear.
I'm not one to be pushed around. “Back the fuck up Cole. I have a boyfriend and you need to stop it or I am going to the administrators.”
His eyes blaze and he leans in closer “Listen here, you fat bitch, I am not going anywhere. You really think that they would take your side over mine? No one would believe a man like me would go after a woman like you.”
