Champagne Kisses (Kissing Junction, TX 4) - Page 11

I drink my coffee black, but she adds two packets of sugar and eight of those little creamer cups.

“So, you like a little coffee with your cream?” I ask her chuckling.

“Yeah, doesn’t everyone?” She says smiling.

“No Dollface.” She crinkles her nose.

“That’s blasphemy!” She says in mock outrage.

“You are so fucking adorable.” She blushes just as Rita sets our plates down.

“Thanks, Matty.” I watch in fascination as she meticulously butters and syrups her pancakes. Then she crumbles her bacon over the top and in between each layer. When she starts to cut her pancakes, and bring the first bite to her sexy mouth, she stops and asks, “Aren’t you eating?” Once she puts that bite in her mouth, she moans.

“Dollface, don’t make sounds like that where anyone can hear you,” I growl out. Her moans make me hard as fuck.

“Sorry.” She giggles and scrunches her face. She knows what she does to me. Little minx.

“Do you just live in that fancy ass apartment or do you live here in town as well?”

“My parent's house is still here, and I stay there most of the time. I just haven’t given up the apartment yet. I was sure they would hate Florida and come home. With Candy being pregnant and now you hopefully, maybe they will want to be near their grandkids. I also have a house over on Spruce Street that I rent out, but I’m between tenants right now.”

“That’s pretty cool, about the house I mean. There is nothing I want more than to have babies with you.” She says. The more I think about it, that house would be perfect for us. Is it too soon to ask her to move in with me? I think as I dig into my eggs. It probably is. I mean I just met her. While I may know she is it for me, she might need more time. I certainly don’t want to scare her away.

“Babies? So, you want more than one?” I ask.

“Oh yes. I want lots of kids. Four, maybe five. I know that isn’t a norm these days, but whenever I imagined having kids, there was always a lot of them, running around, wreaking havoc. What about you?” She asks, putting her silverware and napkin on her plate signally she is done.

“I wanted a few, but I’ve never thought about a specific number. I have a feeling I’ll always love seeing you round with my child.”

“I really like the sound of that Matty. More than I can even say.”

As I am finishing up my breakfast, my cell phone rings. Damn, this thing has a great battery, since I can’t remember when I charged it last. Seeing that it’s the hospital, I have to answer it.

“Sorry, I have to take this,” I say getting up from the table. As soon as she nods I go out the door, standing just in front of the window.

“Hello?”

“Doc, it’s Suzy. There was a fire at the old elementary school. We need you. Cameron was brought in, and he is in and out of consciousness. Dr. Collins wants you to do a consult.” I check my watch.

“Ok, I can be there in thirty. Keep me updated Suzy.” I hang up with her and hurry back into the diner.

?

??I’m sorry Dollface. There’s an emergency at work. This is awkward, but can you put your number in here, so I can call you later.

“Sure, Matty.” Giggling she puts her number in and calls herself. “Now I have yours too.” I grab the check and head to the register and pay. I pull out a twenty and leave it on the table for a tip. The bill was only fifteen dollars and seventeen cents, but Rita is on her feet all the time, and I hate that. I lean down and kiss Jules.

“I’ll call you later baby.”

“Ok. I look forward to it.” She says as she stands up to leave. I pull her into a hug and breathe in her scent. I plant one last kiss on her pouty lips and leave the diner before I forget my oath and take her back to her place.

Chapter Nine

Juliet

Waving at Rita, I leave the diner and call Tiff. She is going to flip her shit when I tell her about the last two days. Not to mention that I’m kinda in awe of how things have gone down too. I’m in need of some BFF talk, and maybe I can get her to come down and show me the new shop. Looking both ways I quickly walk across the street and head straight to the Shop and Bag. I want to surprise Matt with my famous homemade Mac & Cheese.

One thing I love the most about this town is that basically everything is in walking distance from anywhere. Main Street has an Italian restaurant, the grocery store, post office on the right side. The left side has the diner, City Hall, the new bakery, and coffee shop. There is also a little boutique that sells clothes the owner designs.
