I Choose You: A Secret Billionaire Romance - Page 116

He grinned. “Maybe I should, but I'm going to need to anyway after the flight if I'm going to look my best for this social event.” He turned toward me, pointing toward his dick. “You just can't get enough of seeing this after a shower, can you?”

I laughed. Cocky James was back in action. “I guess not.”

“Well, I promise that next time I get you in my apartment, I'll let you do more than look in the shower.”

The offer sent a new shiver of happiness to me. I had always enjoyed shower sex, and I was glad that I was going to get to watch those washboard abs of his actually have water running down them. “I look forward to it.”

He grinned. “Good. Now get dressed.”

Chapter 24

We took the taxi back to my dorm in silence. I knew that he couldn't be seen showing public displays of affection for me, but I still wished that I could lean up against him and have him touch me again.

I wondered if he'd ever be able to treat me like a girlfriend.

It was 11 am when we got back there. I half expected to see Nicole still passed out, but she was gone.

“Good,” James said when he saw that she wasn't there. I was almost worried that I'd have to bat her away when we got here.

There was a pause between us. “So,” I said.

“So.”

“When am I going to get to see you again?” I asked.

He shrugged. “This next week is terrible for me. What about next Friday? What are you doing then?”

I didn't have anything planned. “I don't know, my own business is doing so well that I might just be busy that day.”

He rolled his eyes. “It's just that I saw this last night.” He walked over to my computer desk and picked up the flyer from his coffee shop. “We're playing next Friday, and I was wondering if you'd like to come.”

I grabbed the flyer from him. “'Lefty and the Sharks'? How did you get the name 'Lefty'?”

He shrugged. “I'm not Lefty. I'm one of the Sharks.”

“How am I supposed to believe that the CEO of his own company isn't even the front name for the band that he's in?”

He shrugged again. “I don't run the band. Don't have time for it. I just like to play the guitar. In fact, we have another guy that sometimes fills in for me on guitar for practices and gigs.”

I laughed. “I have a hard time believing that you half-ass anything, especially your own band.”

He had a wry smile on his face. “I don't really care what you believe, Allie. I just like to play.”

I didn't really have a response to that. “Two weeks is a long time to wait to see you,” I said instead.

“Thirteen days, really. And it's fine. I'll email you between now and then. Can I count on you to come?”

I smiled and took a step closer to him. We were almost touching and I could feel his warmth through the air. “Yeah, I'll be there.”

“Good. We'll be practicing before the show and I'm hosting the after party. We won't get a lot of time alone on Friday but I guarantee I'll make it up to you on Saturday.”

“You guarantee it, huh? Can I get that in writing?”

He smiled and shook his head. “The last time I gave you a contract, you leveraged it to its maximum potential. You're too savvy a businesswoman to just willy-nilly sign a deal with.”

Inwardly, I laughed at that. But he was right. I would have used it to its maximum potential...

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of my dorm room door opening. Nicole walked in, looking far more chipper than I had expected. I quickly stepped back away from James and into sister-appropriate territory. Nicole looked great. She wore a pair of tight jeans and a pink t-shirt. Definitely not enough clothes for how cold it was outside.
