Entice Me (Austin Singles 2) - Page 106

Groaning came from under the covers before he pushed them off and sat up.

“Okay, this winter shit is for the birds. I’m totally over the pretty snow and mountains. I want Texas.”

“Well, you’ve got Utah in December. Let’s get dressed and head to the library.”

“Does Jack have any sweats, do you think?”

I pointed to the few items of clothes I got from raiding my brother’s room. “I thought ahead and brought you some.”

Nash yawned and got out of the bed. “Shit! Shit! Shit! What is the temperature in here? How in the hell long has the power been off?”

Lighting a candle, I replied, “How long have we been asleep is the better question. I feel like I was asleep for hours.”

Nash chuckled. “Me too. Felt good having you beside me; slept better than I have in years, it seems. You know you’re going to have to move in with me when we get back to Texas.”

“Me move in with you? Why aren’t you moving in with me?”

He stopped putting on the sweats and gave my question some serious thought. “I guess I could move in with you. You’re not that far from the highway. I could jump on it and get anywhere I needed to go.”

My stomach dipped and jumped at the thought of Nash moving in with me.

“Wait, are you serious? You’d really move in with me?”

“If you wanted me to. I was totally being serious. Your place is way nicer than mine, smaller but nicer. Besides, my favorite food truck is right outside your place.”

I tilted my head to look at him. “Which one?”

“Hey Cupcake.”

Laughing, I tossed a pillow at him.

“So that is the only reason you’re agreeable to moving in with me?”

He shrugged. “Maybe.”

Grabbing the candle, Nash took my hand as we walked out of the bedroom and made our way downstairs.

The temperature in the house wasn’t too bad. It was sixty but felt colder in the expanse of the high ceilings. After making a plate full of cheese, fruit, and veggies, we made our way to the library. Shutting the door, I put down the food and helped Nash build a fire and make a bed in front of it. I knew he wasn’t the least bit tired, and neither was I after that long nap we had. He prepared the fire for other activities, all of which made my insides dance with anticipation. If you thought about it, it was a great idea—conserving body heat and all.

“Do you think Janet and her sister are okay?” I asked, pulling out my phone.

“Send them a text; see if they need anything.”

“It’s four in the morning!” I said with a gasp.

“Wow. We really did sleep for hours.”

I sighed as I sat down. “All the sex is making us tired.”

He followed my lead, wiggling his brows at me. “That’s my kind of tired.”

Nash and I snuggled on the sofa, each of us grabbing a book to read. It didn’t take long before I felt my head drop to his shoulder and I drifted back off to sleep.

I woke some time later on the sofa, only to find Nash wasn’t there. He wasn’t in the library either. Stretching, I stood and headed out to find him. Looking everywhere, I started to get worried.

“Nash?” I cried out, my voice echoing off the walls in the house. “Nash!”

My phone beeped in my back pocket, causing me to pull it out quickly. It was Nash.
