The Wanted Short Stories (Wanted 5.5) - Page 33

Jeff shook his head and started walking out to get My Fair Charmer.

Dancer started whinnying a bit, and I began moving my hands down his neck.

“Shh…don’t worry, baby. You’ll grow to love him, just like I did.”

Ari and I talked about Sweet Dancer and My Fair Charmer as we rode back to the main barn.

“Are you and Scott thinking about breeding only or racing as well?”

“After seeing Sweet Dancer take off, I think he needs to be racing.”

Ari nodded her head. “I agree, but I don’t want to send him off somewhere here for training. I want to take him back to Texas. I think you should call Layton Morris in Llano. Y’all have worked together a few times. His trainer, Lucky, is damn good.”

Layton Morris and Reed Moore were two great guys that we had worked with both on the horse side of things and the cattle side. “Yeah, Layton is a good guy. Scott and Gunner really like him and Reed. That’s a good idea, Ari.”

When the barn came into view, My Fair Charmer picked up his pace, and I laughed as I patted him on the neck. “What about this guy?”

Ari giggled. “I think he is a keeper. I’d like to look at his bloodline though. He seemed fast, but I’m thinking we could stud him out.”

Ari and I both came to a stop as two young boys walked up. After we got down, the boys took both horses.

Pete walked up. “Well? Did you enjoy yourself?”

My dick jumped as an image of Ari fucking me on the horse popped into my head. I quickly peeked over to Ari, who turned and then began following the boys.

I smiled and nodded my head. “We did. Both horses are fast, really fast. Ari wants to take a look at My Fair Charmer’s bloodline. We already looked at Sweet Dancer’s on the plane.”

Pete smiled. “Sure. Let’s head on back to the house and go to my office. I’ve already got info for both horses for y’all.”

I glanced over and saw Ari brushing Sweet Dancer as he bobbed his head up and down. That damn horse had fallen in love with her as fast as she had with him.

“I take it your wife likes Sweet Dancer,” Pete said with a chuckle.

I looked back at him. “I wouldn’t be surprised if she wanted to sleep in his stall with him tonight.”

Pete laughed and slapped me on the back. “Time to get out the checkbook, my boy.”

I rolled my eyes. “Not much room for negotiation, is there?”

“Not with that horse.”

“Let me grab Ari. Excuse me, Pete.” I walked over to Ari and wrapped my arms around her. “When we get home, I want a repeat of this afternoon.”

She handed the brush in her hand to one of the young boys, and then she turned around in my arms. “That, my dear, is one thing I am certainly going to agree with you on.”

“Come on. Pete wants us to meet him in his office.”

Three hours later, Ari and I were back at the hotel. We were changing clothes to meet Pete and his girlfriend for dinner. Ari walked out of the bathroom in

a beautiful black cocktail dress that showed off her curves.

“You look stunning,” I said.

She smiled and did a little turnaround.

The moment I saw the back, my smile disappeared, and my mouth dropped open. “Oh, hell no. No. You have to wear something else.”

Her smile faded, and she put her hands on her hips. “After all these years, do you really think you can tell me what to wear, Jeff Johnson? I like this dress. It makes me feel sexy.”
