Ripples In Time (Maji 2) - Page 119

“I love that.” I smiled. “I think it’s my favourite sound. What’s yours?”

“When I tell you that I love you, and you tell me you love me too.”

I turned my head and looked at my mate, and I couldn’t believe just how much I loved him. I wasn’t good with words like he was, so I did the only thing I could do to show him how I felt about him. I projected my feelings for him at that moment onto him, and I knew he felt my love when he gasped ever so slightly.

“Tola.” He breathed. “My tola.”

“My nalex.”

“My precious female.” He hugged my body to his. “You’re the light that fought away my darkness.”

“Ezah, you are my light.”

We embraced and held one another close under the night sky as we snuggled and basked in the love offered freely by the other. Being semi-naked and wrapped around a male on top of a hill should have made me feel vulnerable, but I had never felt so safe, so secure, so protected, so loved. I closed my eyes, and as I listened to my mate’s breathing, I fell asleep listening to the sound of his heart beating with a smile on my face.

We were both just ripples in time, but the impact we had had on one another was life-altering.

I was loved.

I was free.

I was home.
