Ripples In Time (Maji 2) - Page 51

“I cut myself,” I explained when Nuni pulled back and frowned. “Helping the princess.”

Nuni was replaced by Ezah kneeling in front of me in seconds. I tightened my hold on my blanket, acutely aware that the thin piece of fabric was all I had to hide my nakedness. Nakedness that the prince had already seen. I felt my face burn.

“You’re injured.”

“Not so badly. I just cut my leg and head a little.”

Ezah shifted my blanket and placed one hand on my bare thigh and the other on my forehead. He didn’t look at my wounds. He just touched me and closed his eyes. I stared at him, and I wasn’t sure if I was breathing correctly or not. I felt a soothing wave flow through me, and it relaxed me. The nagging pain I had in my leg began to fade, the one in my head too. My eyes wanted to flutter shut so I could enjoy the sensation, but I didn’t dare. Ezah was so close to me. If I moved my head forward a few inches, I’d be a hair away from my mouth touching his. I swallowed and licked my lips as I stared at his. They were grey, just a bit darker than his skin tone. His lower lip was plumper than the top, and I found myself wanting to suck on it.

A sudden pulse between my thighs made my body shift.

Ezah’s large hand was still pressed against my thigh, and his eyes were still closed, but I heard a deep rumbling come from his chest. My nipples hardened beneath the body cloth, and I felt hot. The sensations were new to me, so I darted my eyes to Nuni, who was watching us intently. She caught my wide-eyed stare.

“You want him?”

She mouthed her words, and I nodded in response.

Without another word, she slipped from the room and left me alone with Ezah. I could have throttled her. She left me alone with a male who ignited feelings and sensations within me that I had never experienced before. I needed her as a buffer to step back from the situation so I could breathe, but she up and left me. I looked back at Ezah and jolted when I found his eyes were open. I said nothing as I stared at him, and he stared at me. His nostrils flared a little. His rumbling growl was more audible now.

“Am I healed?”

My voice was barely above a whisper. Ezah nodded. I clamped my thighs together because the throbbing between them was getting painful. I wanted to touch the spot that caused such an ache, but I couldn’t move. Ezah’s stare had me frozen in place.

“You smell … delicious.”

“I … I just washed.”

Ezah growled. “That’s not what I—”

The door to the room opened, and I got such a surprise that I moved without warning and knocked against Ezah. The sudden movement knocked him off balance, and he fell back onto his behind with a grunt.

“I’m so sorry for the interruption.” Nuni cringed when she poked her head into the room. “Levi … you have another visitor. He is from the palace too.”

I looked at Ezah, whose brows were furrowed in confusion.

“I’ll get dressed right now.”

Nuni nodded and left the door open when she left the room. I looked back at Ezah as he climbed to his feet. Whatever had passed between us was forgotten as he moved towards the doorway in large strides.

“I’ll wait downstairs while you dress.”

He was gone with the door closed behind him before I could say a word.

I stared at it for a couple of seconds, but I had no idea what to think. Before Nuni entered the room, Ezah looked like he might have been considering kissing me. I had no way to be sure without outright asking him, and there was no way I was going to do that. I shook my head and focused on the task of dressing. When I dropped my blanket and saw my leg was healed, I smiled. A touch to my head revealed my wound was gone from there too.

Ezah was a really good healer.

I grabbed a greenish-coloured ensemble from my drawers and carefully took my time as I put it on. There was a process to wearing Maji clothing. Each of my ensembles was made to fit my body and my body alone. Putting it on was easy but making sure the loose pieces of fabric were correctly wrapped was the tricky part. It took a few minutes, but when I was ready, I applied a conditioning product made for the kinds of human hair on Ealra. I then grabbed a hairbrush and combed out my hair. This took a little time, but when I was finished, I braided my hair back and let it drape over my shoulder, then I left my room.
