Irish Bear's Bride (Boston Bear Brothers 3) - Page 42

Still, she didn’t quite feel like the money was hers. If the real Deanna Caine was floating around out there somewhere, it was hers. Deidre would earn her own way. One day, she would even pay the McNally’s back for their help. That is, if she ever saw one of them again.

Opening her laptop, she checked the news. Still nothing that rang any alarms, so she closed it and made coffee. The cafe had moved her to day shift after only a couple of weeks, and the money was great, lots of customers who tipped well. She was doing okay and getting used to her life there. All she could do now was just trust that things would work out for the best.

She’d tried to learn what she could about Deanna, but it seemed no one in the neighborhood really knew her. Deidre had started going for walks in the evening and getting to know some of the other women who lived around her. Not one of them had even flinched when she introduced herself as Deanna, and when she’d broached the subject of who owned the house, they’d said they had only seen the realtors and brokers come and go since the young man who lived there had sold it months ago.

She had barely settled in after her walk around the block when the doorbell rang. Though it was unusual, she’d gotten used to not jumping out of her skin every time someone came to the door. She put down the bottle of water she’d pulled from the fridge and went to answer it.

She couldn’t believe her eyes as she opened the door and her visitor came into view. Her heart nearly stopped in her chest. She was speechless.

“Hello, Deidre,” he said.

“Hello, Niall,” she replied.

“Can I come in?”

“Of course,” she told him, moving back to let him step inside.

She shut the door and turned around to face him, her heart nearly beating its way out of her chest. She started to ask him how he’d found her, but she didn’t get a word out before being pulled into a kiss that curled her toes.

“We have a lot to catch up on,” she managed to pant as he pulled away from her.

“Not now. Right now, we have more important things to do,” he told her, sweeping her up in his arms and carrying her up the staircase.

He paused at the top of the stairs, looking around uncertainly.

“Left,” she told him.

Niall turned left and walked into her bedroom, laying her down on the bed and climbing on top of her to resume the kiss where he’d left off downstairs.

Deidre was reminded of the dream she’d had about it not so long ago, but this one would have no Trill showing up at the end. This one would be just her and Niall, and it was real, not just a figment of her imagination. They made love so slowly and tenderly that she thought she might cry, Niall touching her in places and in ways she’d never imagined would give her so much pleasure. They spent hours in bed, barely getting out for anything more than grabbing a drink of water or a trip to the bathroom. As the night passed, they finally settled down into a comfortable sleep, but after only a few hours, Deidre found herself awake again and wanting more.

Pulling back the covers, she began kissing Niall slowly, letting her lower lip drag across his skin as she moved back and forth across his chest and down his abdomen. At first, she only got a low moan from him in his sleep, but after a while, he reached for her, guiding her downward toward a rapidly rising erection.

Deidre had no idea what she was doing. She’d never given oral sex to a man and wasn’t sure of even where to start, but she was eager to learn, eager to pleasure him the way he pleased her. She started slowly, letting her tongue slip up and down the length of him, pushing him to grow longer and harder as she watched, fascinated.

It was mostly dark in her room, but there was a hint of moonlight casting a small spotlight down the length of him. She took her time just enjoying teasing him. She could feel him pulsate and throb against her tongue, short, jerking movements letting her know he was responding to her. When she was ready, she slowly circled her mouth around the tip, lightly suckling at the bulbous head.

Her hand wrapped around his sizeable shaft, slowly moving up and down as she teased the tip, flicking her tongue back and forth across the top of it. He was growing even harder, though she found it hard to believe that possible. Still, there was no denying it when she could see and feel it first-hand.
