Fireball (Cheap Thrills 1) - Page 43

The sound of hinges creaking and cooler air hitting my back had me lifting my head up to see where we were, just as he lowered me onto one of the loungers around my pool. I’d splashed out and ordered the ones with thick cushions on them, and now I was congratulating myself inside my head on that move. After the hard surface of the counter, the cushions felt like clouds beneath me.

Now that he was lying on top of me, I lowered my head so I could flick one of his nipples with the tip of my tongue. I didn’t know if it felt as good for a man, but I was going to find out. His groan confirmed that it was, so I moved onto nipping it and sucking it gently while my hands roamed, one on his back and one on his chest beside my head. He wasn’t covered in hair, but what he had I could feel under my hand and against my cheek. It was as soft as the hair on his head, which was almost a freak of follicle nature it was that soft. In fact, even the short beard he had was soft. Increasing the pressure, I sucked harder on his nipple, pushing him over the edge.

Pulling his chest away from me, he shifted us further up the cushions and started moving in and out of me hard and fast. At the back of my mind it registered that it was a good thing none of my neighbors could see into my garden, but that thought went AWOL as the next orgasm swept through me just as Dave’s hand gently covered my mouth, muffling the scream that burst out of me.

Seeing the tender look in his eyes as he watched me come almost sent me straight into another one, but instead I ran a hand up his back into his hair, and taking a handful I used it to pull his head down to me so that his mouth could replace his hand. I felt the moment the rhythm of his thrusts changed and became uneven. And then I felt the moment he came as he groaned down my throat. His chest vibrated against mine and his hand that had moved to my butt cheek when I’d kissed him tightened, no doubt leaving bruises for me find tomorrow.

He was still coming when there was a loud crack, followed by another, and the chair we were lying on split horizontally in the middle, one half separating from the other. I wish I could say I was upset, but I wasn’t. Chairs could be replaced, what I’d just experienced couldn’t.

We both started laughing at the same time as he lifted his head to look down at me. He had some crazy spiky sex hair going on, and there was no way I wouldn’t have the same with my own. I’d worry about it in the morning at around the same time as I dumped conditioner in it and braced against the pain it was going to cause combing the knots out. It would be worth every second of that scalping though.

Lifting his hand, Dave moved a couple strands of hair that were resting on my cheek. “Gotta say,” he murmured, his eyes holding mine. “Not sure I’ve ever seen a woman more beautiful than you are, Tabby. I am sure though that I’m going to do everything and fight anyone, including yourself, to keep what we’re building together.”

I could get another chair easily, but I was slightly worried that this man had ruined me. How did you replace your heart?Chapter TenDBSaturday night…

It had been two nights since our first date, if that could be counted as a date.

While we’d been picking ourselves up off the broken lounger and I’d been helping her to her feet, the lights had come back on. The sight of a naked Tabitha Newton, her hair a mess and lips swollen because of me, had made round two happen almost immediately after we’d finished round one. I’d gotten rid of the condom, carried her through to her bedroom, and that had been us until I’d had to get up to go into work at six o’clock the next morning.

A couple of people had been off sick from work with some sort of summer stomach bug that was going around, so I’d been working longer hours to keep us covered. Not wanting Tabby to think I was avoiding her after the night we’d had together, I’d told her I’d bring dinner round every night, and I had.

Over meals from Jilly’s Diner, we’d settled and become more comfortable around each other. That said, not once did I have my handcuffs out of arms reach, just in case. She still didn’t know my secret, and every time her mouth twisted when she mentioned what Jose had been through, or said she’d bumped into Rita in town getting groceries, I knew I was going to have to use them to get her to listen to me when the time came. I should have been honest from the beginning, but I hadn’t known that things would work out between us the way they had. I wasn’t intense when I was in a relationship, it just wasn’t the sort of thing I ever wanted to be with a woman, but with Tabitha it was different.
