Not-So Temporarily Married - Page 7

“Landon!” she cried out, and it was like throwing gasoline on my fire. Taking hold of her bent legs, I pushed them back against her and opened them as far as they would go. My hips pistoned in and out, fucking her hard and fast.

I switched to the other nipple but when her hands came around my neck, I released it and growled, “I didn’t tell you that you could move your arms, baby. But I’ll let it go this time because I want your hands all over me.”

She explored every inch she could reach, her nails digging in more and more as I hit just the right spot inside her over and over. “That’s it, baby, hold on tight. Your pussy doesn’t want to let me go either. Fuck! Yes! Zoe, oh fuck!”

I groaned as my orgasm came out of nowhere, whipping through me like a tornado. Sealing my mouth over Zoe’s, I kissed her passionately, swallowing her screams when I pinched her clit and she followed me over the ledge.

“I don’t want to go home,” Zoe groused as I tossed our luggage into the back seat of Jeremy’s convertible. We’d returned the rental car the day after we arrived and had been using his ever since. I completely agreed. The six days we’d spent in California had been nothing but making love, talking, walks on the beach, and fucking, lots and lots of fucking. I had zero complaints.

We’d also taken the time to really get to know each other, realizing how much we had in common. As well as the things we didn’t. Our playful battles for the remote when she turned on shit like reality TV, usually ended up with both of us naked and sweaty.

Walking to her side, I hugged her close and buried my nose in her silky hair. “I know, baby. Me either. But, we’ve got a business to run. Not to mention moving you in and taking care of all of your loose ends.”

She face-planted into my chest and harrumphed, pouting and making me laugh. After a moment, she straightened with a sigh. “It’s gotta end sometime, right? Might as well be now.”

I dipped my head to her ear, my lips brushing the shell as I spoke. “You better not be talking about us, baby. I think I’ve been very clear on that subject. And, just because we aren’t in Malibu doesn’t mean I won’t be making you come as often as possible. It’s my new addiction.”

She sucked in a breath, and I kissed her quickly before ushering her into her seat. I loped around the car to the driver’s side and once we were both ready, I pulled out and headed for the airport.

Jeremy was already back in Wisconsin, but he’d done me a favor and sent his jet back to pick us up. I fucking owed him, big time, and I had no doubt he would collect. But, I couldn’t think about that right now. It was a short drive to the small hangar and didn’t take long for us to get settled on the plane.

It was too much temptation not to join the mile-high club, so after we reached cruising altitude, I took Zoe back to the bedroom and spent hours worshipping her from head to toe. When the announcement came to prepare for landing, we were both drowsy and sated, ready to drop into bed and rest.

“I’m not going to have any underwear left if you keep tearing them, Landon,” she mused as she stared at her mangled panties in her hand. “Do I have time to shower? I’m sticky and without my under—oh, shit!” Zoe screeched the curse and started pacing quickly, her hands tugging at her hair. “Oh, shit. Oh, shit.”

“Baby,” I soothed, grasping her arms to still her, and looked into her frantic eyes. “Calm down. Tell me what’s wrong.”

“Sticky!” she shouted.

I waited, figuring the need for more explanation was implicit.

“We didn’t use a condom. Oh no! Landon, we haven’t been using them at all! Shit! And, I’m not on anything.”

She pried herself from my grip and started walking back and forth again, rambling. “I think it’s too late for the morning after pill. I mean, it’s been over a week. I wonder if there’s something—”

This time when I made a grab for her, I held tight, my fingers probably digging a little too hard into her flesh. It was clear she was freaked out and rambling, but hearing her mention the morning after pill had me fucking mad as hell.

“No way. Abso-fucking-lutely not.”

Chapter 7

Zoe

I was panicking. I knew I was, with my heart racing and my head spinning. The last week had been amazing. Like an incredible dream from which I was waking up and facing the stark reality of what I’d done. What we’d done. Over and over again. Without any protection.

I should have thought about it at least once before this moment. Being a virgin was no excuse for my irresponsibility. And Landon should definitely have thought of it before filling me up with so much come he’d probably knocked me up six ways to Sunday.

The fury in his eyes, the bite in his voice, and the sting from his fingers digging into my arms snapped me out of my tailspin. I wasn’t surprised he was angry, only that it was sparked for the opposite reason from what I was expecting.

“But if we don’t do something about it, then—” I trailed off, unable to say it out loud. Not yet. Not when I couldn’t quite wrap my brain around the idea.

Landon apparently didn’t have the same problem. “Then what?” he snapped. “My wife will be pregnant with my child, that’s what.”

“Holy shit,” I breathed out, just as the pilot’s voice came overhead again, asking us to buckle up for landing.

I made my way out of the bedroom and dropped into one of the bucket seats. I was vaguely aware of Landon’s fingers brushing against my belly while he buckled me in. Then he got settled into the seat next to me, and I just sat there staring at him and wondering what the hell he could possibly be thinking. How would it all work out if I was pregnant with his baby?

“What would we do in a couple years, after I become a citizen, and we don’t need to be married anymore if we have a baby together?”

“What do you mean, ‘don’t need to be married anymore?’” he growled.

“We got married, temporarily, so I could stay here,” I hissed out in a low voice, even though nobody could hear us since it was just us and the pilot on board.

“I never said anything about this marriage being temporary, Blondie.”

“Wait? What? Of course you did,” I sputtered as the plane touched down on the tarmac.

“Not even once,” he quipped.

I thought back to our conversation in my office a little more than a week ago, and damn if he wasn’t right. I’d called it temporary, and he’d kissed the heck out of me. And then when we’d first gotten to the wedding chapel and I’d been overwhelmed by the flowers and gown, he’d looked so angry when I’d said it was too much because our marriage wasn’t going to be permanent. But he’d never—not even once, just like he’d said—agreed with me. Or even disagreed with me. He’d completely ignored any mention of how long we’d stay married, while I’d blithely assumed it was all short-term. The lack of condoms and the depth of his reaction to my freak-out about possibly being pregnant certainly seemed to indicate he didn’t think this was temporary.

“We’re really married?” His thumb slid over my rings. “Like for real, for real? As in, you want to stay married to me longer than a couple years? Beyond me getting my citizenship?”

“I have no intention of ever letting you go, Zoe. You’re mine. Period. End of story.”

“Except it’s not ‘period, end of story’ since I had no idea!” I shrieked. “Don’t you think you could have clued me in a little sooner about the exact nature of our marriage?”

“I told you that you’re mine, baby, and you agreed. You even told me so yourself that first night on the beach with your pink, little pussy bared for me. Soaking wet for me.”

“Pardon me, Sir,” the pilot coughed, interrupting our exchange. “Just wanted to let you know, you’re welcome to deplane whenever you’re ready.”

My face went up in flames when I realized the door was standing open for us and that the pilot had overheard what Landon had said to me.

“We’ll finish this discussion in the car,” I

hissed, unbuckling my belt and storming off the plane.
