Something So Right (Something So 1) - Page 45

Once we collect our bags, we walk out to a man holding a sign for Mr. and Mrs. Stone. Without having a minute to freak out, Cooper grabs my hand, knowing that I’m going to bail.

“Welcome to Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Stone. My name is Luis, and I will be taking you to your villa today.”

“Thank you so much, Luis, we are very excited to get there. I hope the pictures do this place justice,” Cooper says, following the man to the car that has been sent to collect us.

A villa. What the fuck did he do? I mean, the Sheraton would have been great at this point, but a villa? Once the bags are in the trunk and we have settled in the car, I look over at this man who is just too much sometimes.

“A villa, really, like seriously, what happened to staying at a hotel?”

“Nothing wrong with staying at a hotel, but I’d much rather have privacy, and not only does this house have it, they even have their own private beach.” Cooper is very matter-of-fact about this. I have no idea what to say, so I do what I know best. I huff, roll my eyes, and sigh. A fucking villa.

When we pull up to the house, sorry, villa, I can do nothing but stare open-mouthed. This isn’t a house by any means. It is a two-story home with a circular driveway. The terracotta walls are light beige. The upstairs part of the house has only two windows with a huge terrace sticking out on the left side. It is covered with a roof held up by two pillars. From the front of the house you can see that the terrace has a sofa set with a bar on the side. The front door is a dark wood color with a brass knocker.

There are four windows in the front. Luis asks us to follow him. When I enter the home, I’m met with a mahogany staircase, with an iron banister on the left curving toward upstairs. The floor looks like a shiny brown marble. Upstairs straight ahead is a huge window, letting the sun come in, making the room bright. The right side is a sitting room, also in beige and gray tones, making it feel homey. We walk past the staircase to the kitchen, which has an island in the middle with a sink and bar stools all around. There are two stainless steel refrigerators. The cabinets are also beige, with dark brown and black granite counters as well as the backsplash.

The range oven has eight burners. But the kitchen isn’t what my eye is on, it’s on the back wall. It’s a wall full of windows. Half the windows are open, allowing you to hear the waves crashing onto the beach. When you look out onto the patio, it is covered with a cement roof held up by pillars. In the middle is a black cast iron sofa set with white thick cushions. A wooden table in the middle holds a fruit platter with a bucket of champagne and two glasses.

Down two steps you are met with two cast iron long chairs and an infinity pool. Along the pool there are six more lounge chairs. The turquoise color of the ocean makes you want to sit and watch it for hours.

I’m staring out into the ocean when I feel him at my back. He hugs my waist, kissing my head.

“Happy Birthday, babe.”

“Cooper, this is amazing. This house is out of this world. It’s huge and it’s just ours?”

“Just ours.”

“Excuse me, sir, I placed your bags in your room. If you need anything, my number is by the phone.”

“Thank you so much for all you have done.” Cooper shakes Luis’s hand, locking the door after him. He turns and looks at me. “What would you like to do first?”

“I would really like to go sit on the beach,” I say, smiling. I’m a beach bum. I love the beach. If it were my choice, I would live on a beach.

“Okay, let’s go change.” He pulls me toward the stairs.

When we walk into the bedroom, my breath hitches. This room has floor-to-ceiling windows, showing you the endless view of the ocean. Two of the windows are open, making the sheer white drapes fly with the wind. The huge king-sized bed sits in the middle of the room. Canopy style, all linens are white with white drapes around the canopy poles. The hardwood floor is stained a dark brown. The two windows open up to a balcony with a sitting area and a hot tub. I am in love with this view and this house. I turn to look at Cooper, who is leaning against the doorjamb.

“Babe, I really want to fuck you right now. How much do you want to go to the beach?”
