The Bodyguard Affair - Page 30

ChapterEleven

For the third day in a row, Bianca was consumed by the fact that the hottest woman she had ever laid eyes on—and had sex with—was standing right outside her door, as if nothing had happened between them.

Why don’t you come in here and melt me into this couch?Maybe if she thought about it hard enough, it would happen.

Instead, Spike hopped up onto Bianca’s outstretched legs and began meticulously grooming his face.

With a sigh, Bianca attempted to focus on her tablet, where she had been playing a game while watching a movie on her TV, but she was too distracted. Thinking about life. Thinking about grad school.

Thinking about Sam Reddy.

Sam, touching her. Sam, kissing her. Sam, inside of her.

Shivers tumbled through Bianca’s body. For three days, she and Sam had been dancing around each other. While Bianca was completely incapable of not flirting with the strong, protective woman who was always with her wherever she went, Sam showed no reaction whatsoever to her attempts at seduction. Since that night in the parking garage, she had been so professional that Bianca wondered if she were the same woman.

She makes me want to sneak out again. Maybe this time when she catches me, she’ll actually spank me.

Three whole days. Three days of thinking. Three days of yearning. And at the rate things were going?

Three nights of Bianca touching herself to thoughts of her rugged bodyguard.

“Come in here,” she said to the door, aware that nobody but Spike could hear her. “Come inside so I can ride you like the greatest thrill.” Although if the other night had been any indication, any sexual encounter with Sam would leave Bianca powerless to do anything but hold on for dear life.

Sex against the car? It had been hot enough to make Bianca believe in God. But somehow, the club had been the hottest part. Watching Sam’s leather-jacket-clad frame part the crowd to come claim Bianca for the night? It had been sexy as hell. Primal, even. Just the thought of it was enough to get Bianca all hot and bothered…

She got up and swapped her slippers for sandals. She needed to get out of her apartment, and out of her head.

She opened the door, immediately finding Sam standing stalwart against the hallway wall beside it.

“I’m going down to visit Parker.” Bianca locked her door behind her. “She should be home by now.”

“I’ll come with you.”

“No need for that. She literally lives across the hall from you.” Bianca pocketed her keys. “What, you think I’m going to sneak out again?”

“Yes.” Sam was right behind her as she headed to the elevator. “That’s exactly what I think you’ll do.”

Bianca waited until they were in the elevator to drop the bomb on the tip of her tongue. “If you’re so worried about me running off, why don’t you tie me up so I can’t go anywhere?”

But Bianca didn’t get a chance to witness Sam’s reaction. They had already reached Parker’s floor, the elevator doors dinging open. Sam’s piercing eyes followed Bianca as she stepped out into the hallway. Bianca didn’t look back as she made her way toward her sister’s door, but she could hear Sam’s footsteps behind her as she followed in her wake. Were her eyes firmly planted on Bianca’s ass? The very ass she’d grabbed as she held Bianca up against the car that night?

Get out the handcuffs, Sam. Put me in my place.I bet you’re amazing if someone gets you into a bed. Sam had ‘power-tripping top’ stamped on her forehead, and Bianca wanted to get beneath that.

But Sam’s resolute expression as Bianca shot her a playful glance back over her shoulder said, ‘Not going to happen.’

“At least wait outside.” Bianca buzzed her sister’s doorbell. “Don’t worry. This high up, there are no back doors. Just down through the window.”

Sam’s firm stare told Bianca she didn’t appreciate the joke.

The front door opened. However, it wasn’t Parker who answered, but her girlfriend.

“Hey!” Julia motioned for Bianca to come inside. “You must be here to see Parker. She just got home from work. She’s changing in the bedroom. I’ll let her know you’re here.”

Bianca was relieved that Sam stayed out in the hallway. Once the door closed on her, she was out of sight, out of mind. It was easy enough to put on a cheerful front around Julia, whose smiles were always infectious and who looked right at home in Parker’s apartment. “That’s all right. I’m not in a hurry.”

Bianca helped herself to the giant futon couch that was somehow comfier than her own upstairs.

Julia stood beside her, making idle chit-chat. “How’s Spike doing?”
