I Can Fix That - Page 39

“I didn’t mean to bring you up here for this,” he whispered against my lips.

Without thinking, I simply replied, “Shut up,” and pushed my face back to his. He smiled against my mouth and took a step back to look at me. As I stood in his room, my deepest insecurities ran through my mind, but he calmed it all down with a simple word.

“Perfect.”

He whispered it to himself as if he forgot I was standing right there.

My head was spinning, and I looked at his widespread chest and ran my hands over him. He grinned at me, unashamed of how good he looked shirtless. His confidence always seemed to excite me. Before I knew him well enough, I had assumed he was just a jerk, but now that we’ve grown closer, his attitude is one of my favorite things about him.

Grant grabbed my still damp ponytail and yanked it to position my face so he could have a better view of me.. His lips traced me from my forehead down my cheek, and back my lips. I ran my hands up his strong arms, which were flexing from his grip on my hair.

“I can’t remember the last time I did this with someone.” My confession slipped out effortlessly and I was convinced this room had a gas leak for me to be talking so openly to him.

He pulled away from me, seeming shocked. “Then let me make sure you never forget it.”

He threw me onto the bed, tossing me like a feather. I giggled excitedly. He placed a hand on the side of my face, rubbing his thumb up and down on my round cheeks.

“I’ve dreamed of touching you like this for so long.” His own declaration slipped out and my heart started beating faster.

“So touch me.”

He came back down to me, kissing my jaw and down my neck. My heartbeat was so loud I could hardly hear his rigorous groaning against me. My mind raced, thinking of all the things going wrong here. I knew Grant didn’t want anything serious. I also knew I was falling deeper for him by the second.

He must have sensed me tense up because he trailed the back of his fingers ever so slightly down my face.

“Relax, it’s just me.”

I breathed deep in my nose and let a slow long breath out of my mouth. I commanded my body to unwind under his thick fingers.

“That’s my girl.”

If I were standing, my knees would have fallen out from under me. This gruff man had me under every bit of his control.

I should have pushed him off of me and forced myself to go back home, but where he was headed, I knew my body was overpowering my mind. Repercussions of what was to follow on this bed were the least of my worries.
