When We Dance - Page 81

RAVEN

The bathroom smellslike peaches and coconut, the warm water rolling over my skin, touching me with affection while I catch my breath.

There is no time for indulging, dipping into that post-orgasmic bliss, or thinking about the man who just got out of the shower and puts his clothes on in the other room.

There is no time to slow things down, look at what happened this evening, and figure out where things are going.

And then…

There is no time to catch up with myself, sort through my feelings, clear my head, and get ready to go back.

It’s still all about… Going through the motions while living in a daze, relishing the sweet aftershocks sweeping through my body, clenching my thighs to catch a morsel of faint pleasure, and running my hands over my naked frame, reawakening the things he has made me feel.

Collecting a few small bursts of bliss when I touch my puckered nipples or run my fingers through my folds and over my wet skin, smelling like body wash.

He doesn’t rush me.

I never hear his voice telling me to get out of the bathroom because the sun will go up fairly soon, and I need to go back… Although technically, I could return to the hotel whenever I wanted.

But if we want to keep this evening a secret, we must put some effort into what we tell the world.

Maybe he wants to keep us a secret because that ties us to each other in a unique way.

Maybe it’s his way of saying… Raven is doing something special for me. Because she and I… Are special.

We are special.

And that’s the thing.

Now I have something unique with each of them.

I’m in a whole different story with Kai, who’s unleashed this on me.

I’m in a torrid story with Francisco, who couldn’t find his rhythm after we’d spent some time together.

And now I am a fiery story with Alejandro, who makes my body sing for him.

And it has to be more than their touch, but it’s still too early to tell, and our feelings––those kinds of feelings––are all bottled up.

Not all emotions are hidden, though. Not all feelings are exiled to the darkest corners of our hearts. Some make it to the surface, signaling there’s more to come.

Sighing, I turn off the water and step out of the shower.

It takes a few mindless moves to put my dress and shoes on, free my hair and rake my fingers through it, brushing it all back.

Good thing I have my bag with me, so I fix my makeup the best I can. Regardless of my efforts, I still look like I just fucked. And can’t present a different reality to the world.

This has been quite a night. What am I saying? These have been some of the most intense twenty-four hours.

I never thought… It could be like this.

And this trip is far from over.

I clear my throat and walk out of the bathroom, a scent of fresh fruit greeting me in the room.

“I thought you might be hungry,” he says, lifting his gaze from his cell phone and sliding it into his pocket.
