Waiting For You - Page 40

Chapter Twenty

~ Reba ~

“So lunch went okay,” Mars commented, as the waves crashed around us, and I knew he wanted my reaction to it. His dad had brought his girlfriend to the meal, and Mars needed my take.

Sloane was an adorable librarian around Martin’s age, and her love was evident in her small touches and the way she looked at him. Their relationship wasn’t over-the-top and in your face, but I understood why Martin had turned to her. She seemed genuinely kind, tormented by what Martin had felt trapped in, and had a motherly personality that made me miss mine.

“Well… It did go well.” My fingers twined with his while we walked down the beach—the beach I was coming to think of as our beach. In the month since Niles had been arrested, we came here a lot, just letting the steady roll of waves center us. No matter what happened, the pattern remained the same. In. Out. In. Out. No matter what happened with us, we could go on.

“Sloane’s nice,” I added. “I think your dad will be happy, and she’ll be good for him.”

Mars was silent for a long moment. “Yeah, he’s happier than I’ve even seen him since buying the new place and moving in together with her. I’m not sure how I should feel, though. He cheated on my mother.”

It was a moral dilemma and a difficulty place to be caught. Ardith was a monster. I could understand why Martin had sought solace from Sloane, but I wasn’t necessarily supposed to be okay with it.

“I think… Maybe…” I shrugged. “Maybe, you have to let him live with his own choices and know that they’re not choices you’d be okay with making. You wouldn’t, right?”

He stopped and turned to face me. “Are you asking if I’d cheat on you? Because… Never! I love you, Reba. Even if something horrible happened to part us, there would never be anyone for me but you.”

“I love you, too,” I told him. I went on tiptoes, the water ebbing at our feet making me a little unsteady, and reached up for his face, bringing him down to me. Kissing Mars never failed to soothe me, and I think it was the same for him. Soothe until we grew wild, anyway. I still couldn’t believe this beautiful younger man was mine.

The age gap had ceased to matter long ago. Yeah, I took care of him, but he took care of me right back. We were a team. And sex with him. Hell, There was nothing remotely like it. He blew my mind and made me boneless.

His hands glided down my back to hook beneath my but and he lifted me. So strong too. My legs wrapped around his waist. I buried my fingers in his hair and deepened our kiss. Mars groaned, and one of his hands came up to bury in my hair.

My world tilted then by back was on our beach blanket. We were awash with sun as he pushed up the skirt of my gauzy dress. His hand skimmed up my thigh, drawing it higher around him.

He pulled back and yanked off my panties, tossing them aside. I knew I wouldn’t get more undressed than that. Even though we were supposed to be alone, he never trusted someone wouldn’t unexpectedly show up. I loved the danger of it and my core went liquid from it—from that and the anticipation of being owned by Mars once more.

Holding my leg bent up, he knelt, abandoning my mouth then kissing along the sensitive skin of my inner thigh. I gasped as he sucked hard just below my apex, marking me,. I shivered when his teeth grazed over the spot.

“Mine,” he growled.

My fingers speared into his hair. “Yours. All yours.”

“Always,” he said.

His tongue traced my bare slit. “So soft…” the tip flicked out, pushing deeper. “So, so fucking sweet. My liquid Sunshine.”

“Yes, Mars,” I gasped. My hips canted up, inviting him to take more. To take as much as he wanted.

With a growl, he parted me and dove down, parting me and devouring. He nipped at my clit before circling it with his tongue. I whimpered, jerking, when he sucked it.

My thoughts and surroundings blurred while he devoured my pussy and left no part unexplored by his mouth. Be skillfully brought me to orgasm, my cries echoing across the beach, while I rocked into his marauding mouth.

“That’s right,” he rasped, his words vibrating against me. “Give it too me. Give me my pussy and all that cream.”

I cried out as his words raked over my senses. Goosebumps erupted along my limbs, despite the heat of the early summer evening. My thighs squeezed his shoulders.

He rose over me and I felt his hands frantically yanking at his pants, opening then. I sighed with relief when his thick cock notched to me then sank in, filling me, driving away any emptiness inside me.

We groaned together when he’d buried to his hilt, his pubis grinding against my clit and sending waves of electric pleasure through me. He paused, not moving and I opened my eyes to find him staring down at me.

“Marry me,” he said, his words breathless. It wasn’t really a question. When I just stared, he circled his hips making me gasp as more lightning sizzled through me from my center. Tension spiraled in my belly, growing tighter by the moment. Of their own accord, my walls quivered around his thick length. Squeezing. Worshiping that monolith lodged inside me.

“Marry me,” he repeated with more force.

“There’s nothing else I’d ever want,” I gasped out. My mind was on the edge of having no reason, of my words having no meaning, but I meant these with my whole soul.

His grin grew wicked as his hips started to move. “You’re all mine now. You’re never getting away.”

I grasped his shoulders. There had never been a chance of that. I’d been waiting for him my whole life. Hell, I thought maybe, we’d been waiting for each other. The idea was lost in waves of pleasure while we loved each other. We had each other and our forever would work out itself, just you wait and see.
