Caught off guard, Samantha laughed. ‘It’s a little last minute, don’t you think?’
‘You’d be doing me a favour,’ he said. ‘I don’t want to go it alone.’
Her words from his mouth. Samantha planted a kiss at the corner of his mouth. ‘I’d love to be your date.’
He caught her chin and kissed her deeply. ‘Maybe I’ll come in for water.’
She slipped away from him. ‘Too late. That offer expired.’
‘Smart call.’ He headed down the steps. The gravel crunched under his feet as he made his way toward his car. ‘Goodnight, pretty girl!’
