I’m outside again.

It’s the only thing I do in the days that keeps me going, even though I’m not really doing anything besides looking at the landscape around me which now feels the same as looking at the walls.

Occasionally a bird might fly by and change up the scenery. That is the extent of my boredom.

God, I’m going crazy here in every way and the damn kissing sessions with Aiden are infuriating.

I don’t know how my emotions can be so fickle.

Like an idiot, I go from being scared shitless, to wanting to mount him when he kisses me. The worse is when I feel safe with him.

It’s like lying next to a lion and expecting it to protect you from a tiger. Both are as bad as each other.

I left one devil in San Francisco and ended up with another.

The beautiful devil who is so much worse because of what he does to me. He lures me into temptation and I come unhinged at his touch.

The maddening confusion is deranging, and if I allow it, it will take me to Hell and I will never get out of here.

Then what will become of my family?

My attention is drawn to the maid as she opens the door and walks on to the terrace with the man who looks similar to Aiden.

I’ve decided their related, but I don’t think their brothers. There’s only a slight resemblance and a similarity in presence.

The maid, Irina, settles a tray of sandwiches I won’t eat on the table before me and jug of water. I think she’s caught on that I won’t eat but I’ve been drinking to keep myself going.

She gives me a sympathetic look before sauntering away.

The man who looks like Aiden stays and walks up to Bond Villain guy who’s been watching me for the last few days.

They speak in Russian about the duties for the day. Then Bond Villain guy dips his head with a respectful nod and walks away.

The guy who looks like Aiden takes his place by the railing and looks at me.

Unlike Aiden he doesn’t have any tattoos on his hands, but he has one of a dragon I can see on his neck. The body of the dragon, however, disappears under his dress shirt and I can just about make out some tattoos of stars on his collar bone. That means he’s a senior member like Aiden. I’m guessing he’s either got the same role as my grandfather did or something similar.

He rolls his sleeves up his thick forearms revealing more tattoos. There are Japanese characters which seem more for show rather than symbolic.

We continue to stare at each other, and I find myself trying to steady my heart as it races.

It’s me who looks away first but I return my gaze to him when he comes over and lifts the plastic cover off the sandwiches.

“Believe me it will be in your best interest to eat something,” he says. His accent is stronger than Aiden’s.

It’s the first time I’ve heard this guy speak, but he talks with the same air of authority Aiden does. There’s something more sinister about him though that feels darker. That’s the part I need to watch and be aware of.

“I’m not hungry,” I decide to say instead of what I really want to say. Which is what’s the point of feeding me up if they’re going to kill me eventually. I’m like a fucking pig going to slaughter.

“Irina said you aren’t eating. If you think you’re going to kill yourself on our watch by going on some hunger strike you have another thing coming.”

“Why would I beg for my life if I wanted to end it?” I throw back careful, oh so careful with my tone.

“I’m a man who factors in all possibilities. Eat.”
