Aiden

Dear Massimo,

You do not know me. But I know you, and I feel compelled to contact you in light of the information I’ve recently discovered.

There was so much more to what happened seven months ago when the Syndicate was obliterated.

There were more people involved than who you think. So many more who were responsible for the deaths of our loved ones.So many got their hands dirty to end our fathers.

Riccardo Balesteri was just a pawn in a bigger game to eradicate enemies.I urge you not to stand alone but to reform the Syndicate and lead.Be a leader.

It is only with the strongest alliances that you will be able to hunt your enemies, or war will come.

Good luck.

A friend

This is a copy of the anonymous letter that set me and The D’Agostinos on the mission to avenge the deaths of our fathers when the Syndicate was bombed.

The last time I read that letter, I was in my brother’s office at his home in Redondo Beach.

That was five years ago.

Massimo and Dominic were there too. Massimo was talking about reforming the Syndicate and getting revenge for the deaths of our fathers. That was seven months after the bombing.

They’re here now in the office of my home with the same vacant expressions on their faces. Both look as bamboozled as I am about everything we discovered tonight.

Both have the same questioning looks in their eyes. The question of how this woman came to be in possession of the letter than changed our lives.

How the motherfucking hell did Marie get it if she’s linked to the Order?

The very people who teamed up with our enemies to kill our fathers and tried to kill us too.

Not only has the possession of this letter opened the door of hell, but she also had a picture of a man with the Order tattoo on his arm confirming his membership. If I questioned whether she was working for the Order or not before, I don’t have to now. The picture established a link that she knows someone who is.

When I saw the letter amongst Marie’s things, I knew this problem was bigger and different to what I thought and I had to involve the D’Agostinos straight away.

My pursuit for vengeance for my father was anchored to this letter because I knew someone out there would have been experiencing the same loss as me when I lost my father.

When I heard my father was killed it was like everything fell apart all around me. I didn’t know how much he meant to me until I didn’t have him anymore.

Whilst saying that, I also know no one, and I mean no one, feels as bad as Massimo because his father died in his arms.

He was there at the bombing when it happened and only escaped unscathed because our enemies had other plans in mind for him.

That, however, worked in his favor because it was how he gained access to all the Syndicate wealth. The protocol of keeping what you kill gave him the access to wealth untold.

Despite that, nothing could make up for the loss of his father.

It’s the same for me.

Massimo and I are both leaders and we both know money and power isn’t everything.

Not when you’ve lost so much.

Not when you’ve lost too much.
