Entice (Dark Odyssey Club Fantasies 1) - Page 24

Just like yesterday.

Yesterday I freaked because I didn’t want to be late for my first day of work and today I’m…

Well, I’m not sure yet. I open my eyes, forcing them to stay open against the bright sunlight.

I’m in bed, that same bed from yesterday, but Josh isn’t asleep next to me.

Opening my eyes, I see him sitting across my the window.

The window is open, and he’s in a chair wearing just his boxers, smoking a cigar while he flicks through some files.

He is the one that looks sexy as fuck, and oh my God, last night was even wilder than the night before.

We went to one of the themed rooms. It was one that was futuristic with those fluorescent lights. It was supposed to be something sci-fi related, but we didn’t get to the part of any kind of role play. He just liked the way I looked in the lights.

Then we came here, and it turns out there’s a hot tub outside the room on the terrace. That was where we had the most fun. I didn’t know sex in water could be so much fun.

I didn’t know I could be so much fun, or have it.

Now it’s daylight and we’re here. I’m here and I’m supposed to be at work soon. Except he’s here too.

He looks across at me and I sit up, pulling the covers up to my breasts and allowing my hair to drift over my shoulders.

“Morning,” I say, trying to sound cool and casual.

“Wow…” he replies as he continues to study me.

I find myself laughing. “Are you kidding? I probably look like a cave woman. It’s you that looks wow.” He does.

I don’t know anyone who can pull of the just-got-out-of-bed hair look with such suave and sexiness.

“Thank you, but I’m not joking. Or being nice. I don’t think lies help anybody so you can trust that I’ll never lie to you.”

That gets me. I shouldn’t be thinking about us as anything other than whatever we are, but it means a lot to hear him say that.

Kirk lied all the time. He lied to me all the time and getting that sensation that he was cheating on me wasn’t nice. I remember when I flat out asked him, and he told me he wasn’t. I knew it was a lie.

Josh straightens up, pulling my attention back to him. He sets the file down on the window bay and takes a draw on the cigar.

“What is that?” I ask, referring to the file.

“Work. I was supposed to bring myself up to speed on my new associate a few days ago, but I didn’t.”

“Why not?”

“I heard that she went to Stanford, and I decided I didn’t like her.” He allows the cigar to dangle between his thumb and forefinger.

“What’s wrong with Stanford?”

He chuckles. “What’s right with it, baby? I’ve never met anyone who went there who didn’t make anybody else who studied law feel inferior. And fuck, they aren’t nearly as good as most from Harvard.”

This is clearly a Joshua Tanner observation because I’ve never heard anyone say that.

“Did you go to Harvard?”

“I didn’t. I went to Georgetown, like my father and all the men in my family who do law. But I would have chosen Harvard as my second choice. I doubt though that their strict ways would have been suitable for someone like me.” He puts the cigar out on the ashtray in front of him and a look of seriousness comes over his face. “Come here.”

I start to get up and take the sheet to cover me but he holds up his hand stopping me.
