Alien Ruler Needs a Nanny (Alien Nanny Agency 3) - Page 34

“Is this right that you failed the detector scan?” Ba’sh asked, pausing on one of the feeds.

“I had an accident when I was a teenager,” Jenx said. “I’ve got a metal plate in my head.”

Ba’sh watched as the boy pulled the cap from his head.

Sure enough, a gruesome red scar stretched between his two horn nubs. Very little hair grew on the poor boy’s head, making it look almost as if he was melting from the top down.

He crammed his cap back down quickly, wincing a little and looking like he wished he could disappear.

Ba’sh felt a wave of sympathy for the boy.

“When can you start?” he asked him brightly.

“Really?” the boy asked, looking up with excitement in his hazel eyes.

“Sure,” Ba’sh said. “Welcome aboard.”

“Thanks so much,” the boy said, grinning from ear to ear.

Ba’sh buzzed in one of his assistants to take the kid to legal for his paperwork, and smiled as Jenx bowed his way out of the room energetically, showing great respect by not turning his back on his Ruler.

But there was no time to celebrate his latest hire. Ba’sh had quite a backlog of interviews to get through if he wanted them taken care of before Slaite returned tonight.

One of the kitchen staff came in with a mug of coffee, and he scanned the file of the next one his list of potential hires, humming to himself a little.
