The Alpha Wolf's Enemy (Wolves of Anchorage 2) - Page 60

She was too afraid to consider it might really be him.

“Hi, Kyra,” a male voice said. “How are you?”

“Derek!” she shouted, forgetting all about her nosy neighbors as her mate materialized in front of her. He was standing there, wearing a tight black t-shirt, a pair of fitted jeans, and black combat boots.

He stepped closer, close enough for her to touch. She tried to restrain herself but in the end she could not. She flung her arms around his neck and held on tight. “Derek,” she whispered.

Mate.

“You’re here. How did you find me?”

He chuckled. “Well. I’d like to say it wasn’t hard, but I may have cheated a little. One of my buddies in law enforcement found out where you were going to college, and then I flew here. Once I was in Lexington, my wolf brought me straight to you.”

She was overcome. Part of her had thought she’d go the rest of her life without ever seeing her mate again. And part of her thought that she’d only see him in glimpses, if she ever got the nerve to fly back up to Alaska.

She let go of him and tried to calm down. “Come on inside. You can tell me what you’re doing here.”

Because she couldn’t fathom it. If he’d wanted to talk, then he could have called.

But she really didn’t care. It was the week before Christmas, and her mate was here. She was going to let herself enjoy the moment.
