The Alpha Wolf's Sacrifice (Wolves of Anchorage 1) - Page 25

Roman

On the last night of our reunion, one of his brothers produced a box of beer. "What good is that?" Derek said.

"You say that because you don't know what I have," one of the other guests said.

"And what do you have?" Roman asked.

"I happen to have some beer that has been enchanted with magic. So it's not worthless to us."

The shifters cheered and clapped. "Oh, now you want some."

They sat around the campfire drinking. By 11 o'clock Roman was feeling the effects of the magical wine, and apparently so was Sutton. "How are you liking Anchorage?" he slurred.

"It’s okay.”

“You got a good deal on your land, thanks to me recommending her."

"Oh yeah. You gave me the name of the new realtor. She was good. She knew what she was talking about."

Roman thought fondly of Everleigh, who he had missed while he was gone. "You know that realtor?"

"Yes."

Roman was imagining her pert ass and her full round breasts.

"She's my little sister," Sutton said.

All that took care of his erection "What? You didn't tell me she was your sister."

"I couldn't!"

"Why the hell not?"

"Because she made me promise. She made me promise not to send her any more clients."

"And then you recommended her to me. Why the hell did you do that?" Roman asked.

"She did a good job, didn't she?"

Oh shit. This was the little sister Sutton was so protective of. If he knew what Roman had been doing with her in his spare time, he would freaking go nuts. There was no way Rowan was going to tell him.

"Why are you making a face?" Sutton asked. "What happened? Did you know? You did not mess around with my sister. Man, that's my little sister."

"She's twenty-four years old."

"Not to me, she isn't," Sutton said. He grimaced.

"She's an adult shifter. She has the right to do whatever she wants and so do I," Roman said.

Sutton got up and lunged toward him. "Yeah, I'm going to kick your ass."

"Wait a minute, man. You're my brother. No one's going to kick anyone's ass." Roman’s head was spinning. Why had he thought it was a good idea to get drunk?

"Yeah, Roman, you are my brother, which means you should not be fucking my sister. You should be looking out for her."

"Well, if you’d told me she was your sister, I could've looked out for her. But you didn’t. So there."

"You would've kept your hands to yourself if you'd known?" Sutton asked, poking Roman in the chest.
