The Emperor (The Tarot Club 2) - Page 51

“Crouch down and kiss her from the side of the pool.”

That was an easy fucking ask, and because it seemed ludicrous to argue - to not want to - I followed her instructions to the tee.

Corinne kicked towards me, tilting her head back towards mine, her lips wet, lush, and glistening beneath the pink hued sky.

She was intoxicating, and even as I coaxed her lips apart gently, I needed more. Corinne seemed to feel the same way, her hands snaking around my wrists, and with one small tug, I was toppling - falling into the water below.

It was the strangest feeling because I hadn’t felt as if I were falling. I felt as if I were being welcomed.

“Yes!” I heard the photographer hiss from the lawn, her voice filled with glee.

I didn’t care that I was in my fucking swimming pool in my suit, I only cared that Corinne’s lips were on mine - that her body was pressed against my chest. The water seemed to swirl around us, pushing us closer - encouraging me to devour her. My thumb brushed her wet locks from her forehead as I relented, giving Corinne a momentary reprieve, allowing her to gasp for air.

“Here.” The photographer propelled herself towards the edge, cutting through the sheer need that seemed to pulse in my veins. I ripped my gaze from Corinne’s, satisfied to see that her pupils were dilated, filled with desire. We swam closer to the edge, looking at what the photographer had been eager to show us.

And there on the small screen of her camera was us. We were wrapped in each other, my hands cradled her face as I pressed my lips to hers in pure, undiluted need.

“Wow.” Corinne’s breath was filled with awe, and yet, I still examined the picture before us, satisfied to see that her ring wasn’t in sight. These photos were not engagement photos - they were simply ours.
