Hook (A Hitman's Bait 2) - Page 47

Chapter 11

Thefrontofmy pants tightened across my erection as I watched some guy get handsy with Kit on the dance floor. He might have started dancing with Tack, but the other boy had disappeared some moments ago, and random dance partners flocked to Kit.

As if seeking my approval, Kit stared right at me, and I just sat back and watched the public spectacle. It wasn’t as if anything could happen on the dance floor, and after his very stressful day, he deserved to have some fun, even if it was dancing with a stranger. I was a reasonable man and could allow a dance or two.

Whenever a hand drifted too low, Kit found some way to shake it off. He held his dance partner by the shoulders, and they ground together like they were fucking right there. My nostrils flared, and my cock throbbed.

Maybe I should have danced with Kit after all, but the only thing I could handle was a waltz.

Liam strode toward the booth, his hair tousled and his shirt crumpled. His fly was unzipped. He must have had some fun.

I smiled. “And where the hell have you been?”

“Around. Why?”

“You might want to zip your fly.”

“What?” Liam glanced down, and his face turned pink as he hastily zipped himself up.

“Does this mean you’re calmer and ready to speak to Kit’s friend without coming off like a dick?”

Liam snorted and poured himself some wine.

“Not likely to happen.”

“Why does he get under your skin so much, anyway?”

“I just don’t like him. That’s allowed, right?”

“You know, if you show him your dick, you’ll be on good terms in no time.” I’d seen him naked enough to know he was packing, but for some reason, he would rather argue with Tack about the unimportance of size instead of showing the boy he met his requirements.

“There’s no point in showing him, since I don’t want to be on good terms with him. When I’m ready to settle down, Sully, it won’t be with a boy like him—mouthy, opinionated, and shallow. I like them sweet and docile.”

“He’s actually very smart.” I watched the dancers who got rowdier and rowdier. “You’d like him if you give him a shot.”

“You’re not my fairy godmatchmaker, Sully. I don’t need you to make me a love potion. Next thing you know, you’re turning him from a stripper into a prince.”

I frowned, ignoring Liam. Where was Kit? Had he left the dance floor to find Tack?

He wouldn’t have done that without letting me know.

“What’s wrong?” Liam asked.

“I don’t see Kit anywhere. Do you see him? Help me look.”

I rose to my feet, but it was hard to make out everyone on the dance floor. Kit was small. If he’d moved to the center, I wouldn’t be able to spot him among the throng of people. Which was the reason he’d stayed close to the edge. He wanted me to watch him.

“Do you see him, Liam?”

“No. It’s too dark, and there are way too many people. Maybe he went to the bathroom.”

“He would have said something.” He knew better than to leave without telling me.

“I’ll go check the bathroom. You take the dance floor.”

As Liam stalked off, I waved the server over and promised to pay him a hundred bucks if he watched our stuff and made sure nothing got stolen. He agreed, and I started my search of the dance floor. Bodies bumped into me, arms flailed. I even got a pinch on my butt, but I didn’t find him. Kit was gone.

I returned to the booth, where Liam sat, his features grim. Tack was beside him, looking just as worried. My heart sank. My last hope had been that Kit and Tack were together. Something had to be wrong. Kit would never have gone off on his own.
