Our Desperate Bride (Treasure Falls Brides 2) - Page 17

CHAPTER11

Ten days had passed since the women arrived, and Lee and Ellis knew that their two-week time frame of getting to know Daisy would soon come to an end and they would all have to choose.

Lee’s mind was made up. Daisy was their woman and he’d marry her today if she would say yes.

Ellis who was the more reluctant and had to be certain was even feeling more and more sure that she was the one.

For over the last week, they had seen her every day. Each day, she seemed to be growing more and more relaxed with them. They had learned that she was a mean card player when they played Five Hundred.

And Lee loved her laugh and giggle when she teased them when she won. Their soon-to-be wife made them happy and he hoped they were pleasing her. At least, she didn’t seem as nervous as she’d been when they first met.

Every day, she laughed more, she kissed them freely, making the first move. Every day seemed better than the last, and he couldn’t wait until they finally stood before a preacher and said their vows.

He was ready to claim her and make her theirs. All of his questions had been answered. All his reservations were gone. Daisy was their woman, and today, they wanted to give her something special.

They were taking her shopping.

“Are you ready for today?” Lee asked his partner, knowing that Ellis was the one holding back.

“Yes, I am,” he said. “The wedding ceremony is in four days and we need to give her time to prepare.”

If they hadn’t been walking up to the house, Lee would have done a jig right there in the streets. “Soon we’re going to be exploring her rich, full curves. My cock can hardly wait.”

Ellis laughed. “Settle down, boy, we’ve got four more days before we say our vows. Four long days of torture while we gaze and think about what’s hidden beneath her dress.”

Oh, Lee knew exactly what was hidden beneath her dress. Luscious womanly curves he couldn’t wait to explore. To touch her breasts, her clit, and run his tongue along her seam.

They entered the big house and saw Daisy downstairs waiting for them. When she saw them, her eyes brightened and she smiled. “Hello.”

Ellis went up and kissed her on the cheek and Lee was not going to be left behind. There were other places he wanted to kiss her but would wait until they were alone.

“What are we doing today?”

“It’s a surprise,” Lee said, taking her by the arm. “We’ve got a full day planned for you.”

“Oh, I like surprises,” she said. “Bye, ladies.”

“Bye,” the other girls called after her.

The women were sitting around doing needlepoint. Lee was glad they had promised to take Daisy out today.

When they walked out into the sunshine, she lifted her face to the sun. “What a gorgeous day. How cold does it get in the wintertime?”

Ellis chuckled. “There will be snow on the ground from December to April,” he said.

“And sometimes it starts earlier,” Lee replied. “But don’t worry, we’re going to keep you warm. Already we’re stockpiling wood.”

Each man took her by the arm and they strolled down the street to the mercantile that Lee owned. He was excited to show her his store.

When they stopped in front of the bank, Ellis turned to her. “This is the bank I run for the family and the town of Treasure Falls.”

He pushed open the door and the man behind the tellers’ cage called out to them. There were two desks and a safe in the back, but it held very little money.

“Good morning, Mr. Sanders. Who is this pretty woman you have with you?”

“This is Miss Daisy Miller,” Ellis said.

“Hello,” Daisy called.

“Mr. Smith helps me and has been working overtime while I’ve been courting you,” Ellis said. “Thank you.”

“Glad to do it,” he said. “We help each other in our community.”
