Our Desperate Bride (Treasure Falls Brides 2) - Page 14

“No, dear, I’m glad you did. Sometimes it helps to talk about these things and I promise you no one will ever know. This will be our secret.”

She had not told anyone what happened that night. Not even Mary. Though Mary knew a little from the scandal pages of the paper. But no one had heard or believed her version until now.

No one had thought about the pain of the attempted rape.

“Are you afraid of having two husbands?” Aunt Grace asked.

Daisy laughed. “I’m afraid of having one husband. Two, I can’t even imagine. Please tell me that intimate relations are more fun than what I experienced that night.”

“Oh, Daisy, what happens between you and your partners is wonderful. What you experienced is not the pleasure that you will find with your men. They will take care of you and make certain that you’re happy. Don’t think it will be anything like what happened to you before. There is no comparison.”

There was so much she didn’t understand. So much she had yet to learn about being with a man. A good man. Two great men.

“How does it work with two men,” she asked.

For the next thirty minutes, Aunt Grace explained to her what would happen. When she told her about how they would prepare her ass and take her in both places, she gasped.

“No,” she cried.

“Honey, listen to me. Once they prepare you, you’ll be begging them to take you and when both men claim you at the same time. It’s an experience unlike anything you’ve ever had before.”

Daisy couldn’t imagine. Her mind just couldn’t comprehend how that could be pleasurable.

“All right, I’m willing to try. I can’t return to Charleston, even if I wanted to.”

“No, but we want you to be happy here. Maybe you should drop your family a letter and let them know you’re all right. Maybe now that some time has elapsed, they are sorry for what they did to you. Your mother must be out of her mind with worry.”

With a sigh, Daisy looked at her, thinking of her mother. How she’d stood at the door sobbing when her father told her to get out.

“My father has complete control of the house, and I never realized how weak my mother was until that night. My marriage will not be that way. I want to be a strong wife for my men. While they will be in control, I will still have my say. And I will die protecting my husbands and my children, especially my daughters.”

Aunt Grace smiled at her. She stood and walked around the desk and hugged her. “You’re going to be a fine addition to Treasure Falls. I’m so glad you’re here. Don’t ever forget that you are a strong woman and it’s your men’s job to make you happy, and yours to make them happy.”

Warmth filled Daisy as she gazed at this woman who had taken them all in while they chose their husbands. She liked her a lot. Why hadn’t her own mother helped her? When she had daughters, they would come to her with questions like this.

“Now, go on your picnic this afternoon and when your men kiss you, remember what I said. Tell your mind that this man kissing you is a good man who will love you and take care of you and make you happy.”

Leaning back, she smiled. “Thank you for everything. Now I need to get ready. They are picking me up in thirty minutes. I want to look my best for them. I really want this to work.”

Walking out the door, she turned and glanced back at Aunt Grace, the woman was wiping tears from her eyes.

For the first time since the terrible event, she felt like someone had listened to her. Someone had heard her side. Someone believed in her.
