Admit It (Sinclair 2) - Page 22

Cayla shook her head. She didn’t know what she was going to do with them. She was hot from his text, but she didn’t think she would go through with it. Kalilah opened the front door just as Dex pulled in front of her house. Her stomach flipped at the sight of him. Dex jumped out of his SUV. He wore a black t-shirt and dark gray Nike joggers trimmed in black.

He hugged and kissed Kalilah and Natalia on the cheeks, but his eyes bored into Cayla the entire time. A slight breeze hitting her legs reminded her what she was wearing. The frosty margarita made its presence known when her fingers started to tingle from the cold. Her face flushed. Kalilah and Natalia had her looking like she received his text, got ready, and kicked them out. They preened behind his back as he approached the door.

The Benedict Arnolds were gone by the time Dex was in touching distance. His eyes burned with the same intensity she’d seen the last two times they were alone. His scent dragged her out of her stupor and kicked her nerves up a notch. Dex Sinclair was about to enter her home for the first time with the expressed intention to do dirty things to her.

“Hello, Cayla. You look good…” His eyes raked over her body then back up, briefly pausing at her breasts before reconnecting with her eyes. “…enough to eat.”

She shivered. How did such an unoriginal line have the power to make her wet? Because Dex said it while he was aroused. Hell, he could have told her he liked green eggs and ham, and she would think it was the hottest thing she’d ever heard.

“What did you tell them?” He nodded in the direction Kalilah and Natalia went.

Dex was in her face. Breathing the same air as her. His scent and body heat soaked into her skin.

“Uh…nothing.”

He pushed a wavy tendril out of her face; his intense gray eyes studied her. The truth began to spill.

“They saw the text when I was in the kitchen.”

Dex took the margarita from her, and she stepped back. He moved into her house, then turned and locked her front door.

“I didn’t know I got a text.”

Dex nodded while finishing the margarita.

“They sent the ‘K’.”

He put the empty glass down on the nearest surface, then took a step towards her.

She took one step back.

“Kalilah and Natalia said I should go take a relaxing shower.”

Dex smirked and took another step.

She retreated again. “Then, Kalilah said I should wear the nightshirt she got me for Christmas.”

Dex moved toward her again. The heat in his eyes intensified instead of dimming like she thought it would.

“I didn’t know about the text until you said you were in the neighborhood.”

Cayla ran out of steps. Thrice, she’s found herself trapped between Dex and a surface. He didn’t kiss her like she expected. Instead, his fingertips slowly traced the left side of her face, down her neck, across her sho

ulder, down her arm, then briefly paused on her hip. His fingers left a trail of hot tingles down her body. His slate eyes studied her face, checking for her reaction. His breathing was shallow, and the scent of him intensified with his body heat. His fingers slipped under her shirt, tracing up the front of her thigh, over her panties, and up her belly. Cayla shivered. Dex splayed his hand just under her right breast. He wasn’t touching any other part of her, yet her whole body ached.

Cayla bit her lip when his other hand took a similar journey. Her heart pounded in her chest like it was trying to get to Dex. Her breath hitched when his other hand stopped at the same spot. She throbbed with anticipation. She was unable to predict his next move. She stood in suspense, scared to move forward and scared to stop. Dex’s face was in kissing distance. Cayla’s lips parted. He licked his own, leaving moisture on his full bottom lip. She’d never wanted to kiss someone as bad as she wanted to kiss Dex. Memories of how it felt when he claimed her mouth earlier that day made her wet with anticipation.

Dex’s thumbs rubbed teasing circles on her taut peaks. Bolts of pleasure shot through Cayla and settled in her core. She arched into his hands and whimpered helplessly. She wasn’t a fan of nipple play before Dex. But, she’d happily let him rub them for hours. Dex continued to watch her. His gaze hot and calculating. Cayla craved one of his jarring kisses. She didn’t know why he was waiting, but he was. His hands abandoned her nipples. His nails worked their way down her sides.

“Dex…please.”

“Please what, Cayla?” Damn. It was the first time he’d spoken since entering her house. His voice was deep with a gravelly rasp.

“Kiss me,” she begged. At this point, she wasn’t above it.

“Where?" His breath on her neck made her weak. She was molding clay. No, she was putty. Scratch that, she was fucking kinetic sand; he could do anything he wanted.

“Everywhere.”
