I Never Knew Love 'til You (I Never 4) - Page 29

The door opens, and I wince as it slams against the brick exterior. I don’t have to turn around to know that she followed me out here.

“Why do you hate me so much? What did I ever fucking do to you?” she shouts from behind me.

“I never said I hated you.” I squeeze my eyes tighter.

She snorts—literally snorts. “Could’ve fooled me. Your body language and your shitty attitude toward me says it all for you.”

“It’s not that simple,” I admit honestly.

“Actually, it is.” The composure I’ve gathered in the few moments away from her snaps, and I spin around fast enough to give both of us whiplash. “You either do or you—”

I don’t give her a chance to finish her sentence before I press her up against the brick, the rough surface possibly leaving scrapes on her exposed skin.

I devour her smart mouth with slow and steady strokes of my tongue against hers.

“You drive me fucking crazy, you know that, right?” I ask, pulling my lips away from her but not losing contact for too long.

I trail my lips down her neck, not giving a damn that we’re currently in an alley. “I didn’t kiss you back there because I knew if I kissed you, I might never stop.” She thrusts against me when I nip the sensitive spot where her neck meets her shoulder. “I’ve avoided you because every time I’m with you, I feel your pull. I can’t resist you. I don’t want to anymore.”

Her hands skim down my stomach, and the muscles tense under her touch, even with the material keeping her hands from branding my skin. When her fingers reach my cock, which is so hard it’s ready to bust right through my pants, I grab her hands and pin her arms above her head. If she kept doing that, this would be over before it even began.

She gasps but doesn’t push me away. I keep her in place with one hand and slide the other leg between her thighs and find damp material. Jesus, I’ve barely touched her, and she’s already soaked.

“Fuck,” I groan in her ear as I remove my hand from her panties and step between her spread legs. She grinds her pussy down on my knee, and I wonder if I can make her come without even touching her. The soft whimpers she lets out engrave themselves in my brain. They are better than any of the sounds that have played out in my fantasies.

“Jaxon,” she whimpers when I graze my teeth over her exposed collarbone and lick away the sting. I kiss my way back up her neck and capture her lips again. She kisses back with such an urgency I know she is getting close.

A noise from behind us causes me to jump back.

“Shit. Fuck.” I run my fingers through my hair, leaving the strands a mess. Before I can think better of it, I bring my gaze back to Kate, whose swollen lips and smeared lipstick look like a work of art. Her chest heaves up and down as she tries to catch her breath. The skin along her neck is flushed, either from her arousal or the burn of my facial hair brushing against it. Her chocolate-brown eyes shimmer in the light, I’m sure in shock—though I’m unsure if it’s shock that we were just doing that or that I stopped.

“I’m sorry. That shouldn’t have happened. I can’t do this.” I don’t give her a chance to respond, and once again, I am rushing away from her, putting much-needed space between us.
