Falling for Fangs - Page 90

“I really do,” Chloe insisted. “I’ve never been in love before, and it was goddamn terrifying. And I know what I said about turning, about that witch who cursed you. Because it doesn’t make sense to me; wanting to become a vampire. Unless it was to be with someone you love. Then, it actually sounds like a pretty great idea.”

Maxwell didn’t have any words, so he kissed her again. Long and tender, sweet and unrushed in the falling snow. All of the torment, all of the pain, all of the anguish seemed to melt away at her words. She really did care for him. More than cared. She loved him. She wanted that future with him that had seemed utterly impossible.

“There’s no rush on the turning thing,” Maxwell said quickly. “I mean, you’ve got your business to run, and I know how busy you are. I just can’t stand the thought of ever losing you. I want you with me. Always. Literally always.”

“And I want that with you,” Chloe said, pressing her forehead to his. “I want this, with you. Forever.”

“I can’t—” Maxwell was lost for words. “I don’t even know what to say. I’m so fucking happy, Chloe.”

“And so am I,” Chloe said, her face glowing. He knew it was true. “I’m also fucking freezing.”

“Haven’t changed your mind about snow, then?” Maxwell’s lips twitched. “Here was me thinking it was kind of picturesque.”

“Absolutely not,” Chloe shook her head. “Let’s get out of here. Somewhere warm, where I can get you naked as quickly as possible.”

“That,” Maxwell said. “Is a brilliant plan.”
