Saint (The Buck Boys Heroes 3) - Page 48

He skims a hand down the front of his shirt. “If you think he’s all that, he’s one lucky bastard.”

“I’m one very lucky woman.”

“You’re an incredible woman.” He gazes into my eyes. “You have a good heart, Champ. Leon and I can both attest to that.”

I’m grateful that he didn’t push me on why I didn’t wait until tomorrow to bring Leon his pen. I couldn’t wait because I want that envelope in my ex-fiancé’s hand as soon as possible.

“I’ll walk you home now,” he says.

“You’ll take the subway home with me now.”

His lips press into mine again for another kiss. “I’d like to repay some of that seventy dollars worth of orgasms I owe you tonight.”

Laughing, I tug on his hand to get him moving. “I can’t wait.”

Chapter Forty-One

Sean

The desire to go back to the building where Leon works so I can pound on every door until I find Calliope’s ex is strong, but I’m not that guy.

I might have been if we hadn’t fallen into my bed an hour ago.

After what we just shared, I don’t need to know the name of the bastard she was engaged to. I don’t have to see his face. She wants me now, and that’s all that matters.

I must be doing something right if this woman next to me in my bed thinks I’m worth her time.

She slides her bare leg over mine. “You’re an amazing lover.”

I’ve heard those words in the past but their gravity, the weight in which they were spoken, never resonated with me. Tonight I feel them.

“Being with you is an out-of-body experience, Calliope.” I tug her closer to me so I can rest my chin on the top of her head. “It’s hard to describe.”

She pulls back to glance up, so our eyes meet. “I understand because I feel the same way.”

I think this might be love, and if it is, I’m falling hard and fast for her.

“You had this look in your eyes when I first saw you tonight.” I tread into a topic I swore I wouldn’t with her, but things have shifted. She’s no longer as hesitant as when we first agreed to see each other.

“This look?” she asks as she widens her eyes. “It’s my damn-my-boss-is-hot –as-fuck look.”

I huff out a laugh. “You think I’m hot as fuck?”

“You know you are.” She sighs. “That’s why you put yourself on that billboard in Times Square.”

“Did you figure that out on your own, or did you have Delora’s help?”

“Delora,” she admits. “But I get why you did it. You have quite a body to work with.”

My hand slides down her back. “As do you, Champ.”

She squirms against me. “Tell me more about this look I had tonight.”

“It’s the look a woman has when she spots that one face out of all the millions of faces in Manhattan. It’s the face of the guy she knows is crazy about her.”

Her cheeks blush pink as her gaze drops to my lips. “You’re crazy about me?”

I skim my fingertips over her back until I reach the base of her neck. “So fucking crazy about you.”

She kisses me in a way that makes every fear I’ve ever had disappear.

I cling to her, savoring the taste of her lips, cherishing each of her breaths, and wishing I had met her years before now.

As we part, she stares into my eyes. “Make love to me, Sean.”

Nothing leaves my lips but a low groan of desire.

I roll her onto her back and stare down at her beautiful face.

I sense that unspoken words are sitting on her tongue, but I get it. I get that the idiot that lives in that building on the Upper West Side broke her in a sense, and she’s piecing herself back together in the way she needs to.

I kiss her mouth before I trail my lips down her chest until they settle over her right nipple. I know her body. I know that my mouth on that sweet swollen bud will draw her hips up.

I know that when I lick up the seam between her legs, she’ll shudder before she quietly begs me to suck on her clit.

I lower myself, tasting a path down her body until my face is between her thighs. “This first. Then I want to be inside of you.”

“Don’t be gentle tonight,” she whispers, fingers threading through my hair. “I want to feel you everywhere.”

I attack her core with relish, licking, nipping, sucking, biting, and finally sliding a finger into her tight channel.

She bucks against me, chanting my name in a hymn that will lull me to sleep when she leaves me tonight.

“Our date is tonight,” Calliope reminds me as we wait on the sidewalk for Jurgen to arrive.

She left me early this morning again to get ready for the day.

By the time my alarm rang, she was gone, so I got up, showered, had a coffee, and forged a plan for the day.
