Averie and the Grizzly Skulls - Page 8

Kodiak

Istoodbythe open door, waiting for her time to run out. The timing was always random and chosen by Grizzly. Not even I knew how long it would be before I was let out to start my chase.

We remained in silence, and my plans for the night played through my mind. Some might only think of the end goal but not I. The chase was almost as fun as catching my prey. The adrenaline, the wait and anticipation. It was a puzzle, a game, and I knew Averie would have some tricks.

Not that it truly mattered. I knew this area far too well, including all of the hiding spots. There weren’t many depending on which way she took off.

My foot tapped as the wait grew longer. “How long has it been?” I asked.

Grizzly tsked from his chair. “If I told you, you’d know how far she has gone. Where’s the fun in that?”

I glared at him, but he was right.

“You’re getting older, Kodiak. Soon, you won’t be able to play these games with young prey.”

I glared out into the darkness, ignoring his musings. I would deal with that issue when I was no longer physically able to participate. Soon was not the appropriate word. I had at least fifteen more years in me, maybe more, considering how well I took care of myself.

Grizzly cut my inner thoughts short. “I think that’s been long enough, don’t you? Have fun.”

And I was off to find my special prey. The one that wasn’t in on the game. It only added to the excitement of tonight.

I’m coming for you, Averie.

It didn’t take long to track down Averie, but I let her continue to run. I wanted her to have enough left in her to fight, plus, she looked far too delicious in her outfit. Watching her worked me up and built the hunger. This night was special, and I wanted to show her how vicious I could be.

“You made it far too easy, Averie,” I called out to her. I’ll admit that using the sound of water was a smart move, but only if she had paid enough attention to what was behind her. Not once had she looked back as she shimmied her way into the crevice.

It was far too easy to pull her out and have the upper hand.

I played along with her sassy comments and found them enjoyable. My dick pressed against the denim encasing it, begging to be let loose and used on the woman that I verbally sparred with. It was time our sparring turned more physical so my needs could be sated.

I waited for the right moment and as soon as she rolled her eyes, taking them off of me for one second, I pounced on her. The scream that escaped her lips only fueled the predator inside me.

We tumbled to the soft ground. An oomph left her lips as I fell on top of her, pushing her into the wet dirt. “Scream as much as you like, Averie. It is the most beautiful sound I have ever heard.”
